Korea Railways: KTX and ITX
How Korean trains work, what the classes cost, and how booking is handled.
السكك الحديدية الكورية runs KTX high-speed trains plus ITX intercity services. The flagship run is Seoul–Busan: 418 km in about 2h 15m on the fastest KTX, city centre to city centre — faster door-to-door than flying once airport transfers are counted in.

Fares above are the regulated adult Seoul–Busan fares in KRW; other city pairs and ITX services are quoted per request.
There are only three classes, and the fares are regulated rather than demand-priced:
Tickets are fully electronic. Korail's own site is Korean-language and wants a local account, so we book for you in English: your ticket is issued against your passport and the confirmation email carries a QR code — show it on your phone, no counter visit, nothing to print.
Our Korean timetable covers 20 KTX and ITX stations — Seoul, Yongsan, Cheongnyangni, Suseo, Daejeon, Dongdaegu, Busan, Singyeongju (for Gyeongju), Gwangju Songjeong, Mokpo, Yeosu-Expo and Gangneung among them.
Korea is sold as a booking request, not instant payment, because seat availability has to be confirmed with Korail first. Nothing is charged until we have your seats.

How long is the train from Seoul to Busan?
About 2h 15m on the fastest KTX, which covers the 418 km between the two city centres. Slower ITX and other services take longer — the timetable shows the real journey time for every departure.
How much is a KTX ticket from Seoul to Busan?
The regulated adult fares are ₩59,800 standard, ₩83,700 first class and ₩50,800 unreserved. Our service fee is shown separately before you pay anything.
Do I need to collect a paper ticket in Korea?
No. The ticket is issued against your passport and the confirmation email carries a QR code. Show it on your phone at the gate; there is nothing to collect at the station.
