Airport buses at Changchun Longjia (CGQ): routes, fares and boarding points

Four routes, all leaving from Terminal 2: three city lines at ¥25 each and the Jilin City intercity coach, line 999, at ¥18. None of them publishes a journey time, and that is not an oversight on our part.

In short

Start with the most important sentence on this page: no bus route here has an officially published journey time. The airport’s notice of 15 January 2025 on the operation of its bus routes lists stops, departure times and fares, but never how long a trip takes. The figures you see on third-party sites, roughly 50 minutes, about an hour, or one hour and four minutes, are not official, so this page does not reproduce them and the minutes column stays empty. Now the routes. After bus operations were transferred on 15 January 2025, the official notice lists three Changchun city routes, all at ¥25. Line 1 runs to Renmin Square via Dongfang Square, Lequn Street, Linhe Street and Nanguan, departing in step with flight arrivals. Line 2 runs to the Satellite Square highway coach station via Shoudi Shoucheng, the Convention and Exhibition Centre and Linhe Street, leaving the airport hourly from 10:00 to 18:00 and returning hourly from 08:40 to 16:40. Line 3 runs to Kaixuan Road coach station, the north entrance of Changchun station, via Dongfang Square, Lequn Street, Linhe Street, Nanguan, the Department Store and West Square, and also departs in step with arrivals. The fourth route is Jilin City bus line 999, an intercity coach at ¥18 leaving hourly from 09:00 to 01:00 and boarding at Door 5 of Terminal 2, where the Jilin City bus ticket office and self-service machines sit inside the domestic arrivals hall; you can also buy through the Jilin City Airport Bus WeChat account, except for departures between 20:00 and 01:00. Tickets for the three city lines are sold at the coach counter and self-service machines beside Door 9 on the arrivals level of Terminal 2, or through the Changxing Changchun mini-program. Two things must be said. Departing in step with flights means there is no printed timetable from the airport: lines 1 and 3 run from 60 minutes after the first landing to 60 minutes after the last, leaving when full at peak and at least hourly off-peak. And this airport has no metro — light-rail Line 3 does not come here and Line 9 is under construction with service planned for the end of December 2027 — so if Changchun station or Jilin station is your real destination, walking the 880-metre indoor corridor to Longjia station and taking the intercity train, about 14 minutes and ¥8.5 to Changchun or 30 minutes and ¥22.5 to Jilin, is usually both faster and cheaper than any coach.

How to take each option

How to buy a ticket and where to board

  1. For the three city lines, buy at the coach counter or self-service machines beside Door 9 on the arrivals level of Terminal 2; the fare is a flat ¥25.
  2. You can also check that day’s departures and buy in the Changxing Changchun mini-program, which saves queueing.
  3. All four routes leave from the coach departure point at Terminal 2, so find the stand for your line and queue there.
  4. Jilin City is different: go to Door 5 of Terminal 2, where the Jilin City bus ticket office and machines sit inside the domestic arrivals hall, and pay ¥18.

Keep the two apart: the three city lines sell tickets beside Door 9 and board at the coach departure point, while line 999 sells and boards at Door 5. The location of the Door 9 counter comes from the operator’s WeChat account rather than the airport website.

What “departing in step with flights” really means

  1. Lines 1 and 3 have no printed timetable: they start within 60 minutes of the first landing and finish within 60 minutes of the last.
  2. They leave when full at peak times and at least hourly off-peak, which means a wait of up to an hour is possible late at night.
  3. Line 2 is the only city route with a clocked timetable, hourly from 10:00 to 18:00 out of the airport.

If you land around the last flight, lines 1 and 3 still clear the final arrivals, so being genuinely stranded is rare, but expect a wait in the small hours.

Going to Jilin City: line 999 or the train?

  1. Line 999 costs ¥18, runs hourly from 09:00 to 01:00 from Door 5 of Terminal 2 and finishes at Ouya City in Jilin City, calling at Jiangcheng Square and Century Square on the way.
  2. The train is faster: about ten minutes of indoor walking to Longjia station, then roughly 30 minutes to Jilin station on the Changchun–Hunchun line, about 21 trains a day at ¥22.5 in second class, first at 07:19 and last at 20:46.
  3. Choose line 999 to save money at ¥18, or the train for speed at about 40 minutes door to door; after 20:46 only line 999 and taxis remain.

Two fares circulate for Jilin City: the standard ¥18 on line 999, per the airport notice of 15 January 2025, and a ¥25 fare on temporarily added services announced by the Jilin transport bureau in July 2026. This page uses ¥18 and keeps the ¥25 source on record.

If you would rather not take a coach

  1. For Changchun station or the centre, walk the 880-metre indoor corridor to Longjia station and ride about 14 minutes for ¥8.5, with roughly 22 trains a day — both faster and cheaper than the ¥25 coach.
  2. With heavy bags or a late arrival, taxis queue outside Door 15 of Terminal 1 and Door 3 of Terminal 2, while ride-hailing picks up inside Door 13 of Terminal 2.
  3. Do not count on a metro: light-rail Line 3 does not serve the airport and Line 9 opens only at the end of December 2027. To reach Line 3 you must first take bus line 2 to the Convention and Exhibition Centre or Linhe Street.

An older airport page from January 2024 also listed point-to-point routes to Jilin City at ¥100, Liaoyuan at ¥62 and ¥100, Dehui at ¥40 and Shulan at ¥70, but the notice of 15 January 2025 covers only the four routes above, so the older ones are treated as unreliable and are not listed here.

Late-night and early-morning arrivals

Two routes hold up at night: bus lines 1 and 3 follow flight arrivals and keep running until 60 minutes after the last landing, at least hourly off-peak, while Jilin City line 999 runs to about 01:00 from Door 5 of Terminal 2, where departures after 20:00 must be bought at the counter or machine rather than online. Line 2 finishes at 18:00, the earliest of the four. If you miss everything, taxis and ride-hailing run round the clock, with ride-hailing inside Door 13 of Terminal 2, and between 22:00 and 04:00 the taxi flag drop rises from ¥8 to ¥9. The last intercity train leaves at 22:20, after which there is no rail option.

Questions travellers ask

How much is the airport bus at Changchun Longjia?

City lines 1, 2 and 3 are a flat ¥25 each and Jilin City line 999 is ¥18. All four charge a single flat fare regardless of distance, so you simply pay when you board.

How long does the bus take?

It is not published, and that is a genuine absence of data rather than a gap in our research. The airport notice of 15 January 2025 lists stops, departure times and fares only. The 50-minute and one-hour figures on third-party sites are not official, so they are not reproduced here.

Where do I board the bus?

The three city lines board at the coach departure point in Terminal 2, with tickets sold at the counter or machines beside Door 9 on the arrivals level. Line 999 to Jilin City boards at Door 5 of Terminal 2, where the counter and machines are also located.

Is there a bus to Jilin City, and what does it cost?

Yes, Jilin City bus line 999 costs ¥18 and runs hourly from 09:00 to 01:00 from Door 5 of Terminal 2. The intercity train to Jilin station is faster at about 30 minutes and ¥22.5, but its last departure is 20:46.

What time does the last bus leave?

Lines 1 and 3 follow flight arrivals and run until 60 minutes after the last landing, line 2 finishes at 18:00, and line 999 runs to about 01:00. The last intercity train leaves at 22:20.

Bus or intercity train — which is better value?

For the centre or Changchun station the train clearly wins at ¥8.5 and about 25 minutes door to door, immune to traffic, against ¥25 and an unknown journey time on the coach. For Jilin City it reverses: line 999 at ¥18 undercuts the ¥22.5 train.

Is there a metro?

No. Light-rail Line 3 runs from Changchun station and the Puppet Manchukuo Palace in the north to Changying Century City in the south and never reaches the airport, while Line 9, the airport line, is under construction with service planned for the end of December 2027. To join Line 3, take bus line 2 to the Convention and Exhibition Centre or Linhe Street.

Can I buy bus tickets online?

The three city lines can be checked and bought in the Changxing Changchun mini-program, and line 999 through the Jilin City Airport Bus WeChat account, although departures between 20:00 and 01:00 cannot be bought online and must be purchased at the Door 5 counter or machine.

Are there buses if I land late at night?

Yes. Lines 1 and 3 follow flight arrivals and run until 60 minutes after the last landing, and line 999 until 01:00. If you miss everything, take a taxi or a ride-hailing car from inside Door 13 of Terminal 2; both run round the clock.
