In short
Let us answer the question everybody searches first: there is no metro at Xuzhou Guanyin International Airport, and this is an official answer rather than a gap in our data. Replying on the People’s Daily Online message board in May 2026, Xuzhou Metro Group said that suburban Line S2, which would serve the airport, exists only inside the approved 2020–2035 urban rail network plan, has not been built, and will not run through to Xuzhou East — passengers would change at an interchange between the two. None of the operating lines, 1, 2, 3 and 6, has an airport station either. So there are three ways in. The cheapest by a wide margin is the rail combination: take the ¥3 shuttle from outside the Level 1 arrivals hall of Terminal T2, about 15 m ahead and to the left of Exit 2, for a five-minute ride to Guanyin Airport station 1.5 km away, then ride the Xuzhou–Suqian–Huai’an–Yancheng high-speed line about 15 minutes to Xuzhou East from ¥13 to ¥16 in second class, so ¥16–19 in total. The catch is frequency: the airport quotes 12 shuttle runs a day, so check that day’s departures on 12306 before you commit. From Xuzhou East, Metro Line 1 takes you into the centre, roughly 22 minutes to Xuzhou Railway Station. The second option is the city airport coach at ¥25, which finishes at the Main Bus Terminal right beside Xuzhou Railway Station, the old main-line station, calling at the South Bus Station on the way; it leaves the Main Bus Terminal roughly hourly between 06:00 and 20:00, and in the airport-to-city direction it simply departs as flights land, with no fixed timetable and no officially published journey time. The third is a taxi or a ride-hailing car: ¥8 covers the first 3 km, then ¥2.00 per km in the 3–6 km band, after which a 50% surcharge lifts the per-km rate to ¥3.00, and operators may add up to 20% on top of the base tariff because Xuzhou uses guided prices. Road and bridge tolls are paid by you separately. Third-party travel sites quote ¥80–100 and about 50 minutes to Pengcheng Square, which is a reference range and not an official fare.

How to take each option
The ¥3 shuttle plus the high-speed train: cheapest overall
Time About 20 min in total on boardFare About ¥16–19
- After baggage claim, follow the rail-shuttle signs in the Level 1 arrivals hall: the shuttle pick-up area is outside the hall, about 15 m ahead and to the left of Exit 2, and it is separate from the taxi rank, so do not join the wrong queue.
- Pay ¥3 on board, in cash or by QR code. The shuttle leaves 30 minutes before each train departure, with the bus arriving 40 minutes beforehand, so decide which train you are aiming for before you queue.
- Five minutes later you reach Guanyin Airport station on the Xuzhou–Suqian–Huai’an–Yancheng high-speed line, 1.5 km from the terminal. Go in, clear security and collect your ticket or scan your ID at the gate.
- Ride about 15 minutes to Xuzhou East for ¥13–16 in second class; we saw ¥14 on D5406 and D5410, with ¥13 on D5414 and C3886, so the fare moves with the train.
- Change at Xuzhou East to Metro Line 1 for the city centre: towards Luwo, about 22 minutes to Xuzhou Railway Station. With heavy bags, take a taxi from the rank outside the station instead.
This is the best value option at Xuzhou, with two caveats. Guanyin Airport station sees very few stops — the airport quotes twelve shuttle runs a day and third-party timetables put gaps between trains at two hours or more — so check that day’s departures on 12306 first. And it delivers you to Xuzhou East, not to the centre: the last leg is Metro Line 1 or a taxi.
City airport coach: ¥25 to the Main Bus Terminal
Fare ¥25
- Wait at the shared airport-coach area on the T2 arrivals level, outside Exit 3, and buy your ticket at the staffed counter or one of four self-service machines at Arrivals Exit 2.
- Pay ¥25 and board. The coach finishes at the Main Bus Terminal next to Xuzhou Railway Station, the old main-line station, calling at Ceramics Market and the South Bus Station on the way.
- For the day’s arrangements call the hotline on 0516-83707677 (weekdays 08:30–12:00 and 14:00–17:00). Departures from the airport have no printed timetable at all: coaches leave as flights land.
The airport publishes departure times only in the city-to-airport direction — 06:00, 07:00, 08:10, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00 and 19:00 from the Main Bus Terminal, plus 12:00 and 20:00 runs that also call at the high-speed station — and no journey time for any route, so this page quotes no minutes.
Taxi or ride-hailing
Time About 50 min (third-party)Fare Metered
- Follow the taxi signs to the official rank outside the Level 1 arrivals hall of T2, about 15 m ahead and to the right of Exit 2; the airport’s own posts sometimes describe the same spot as 10 m past Exit 2.
- Show the driver your hotel name and address in Chinese, say clearly that you want the meter rather than a negotiated price, and keep the meter receipt with the cab number.
- Pay what the meter shows, plus any road and bridge tolls. Third-party travel sites quote roughly ¥80–100 and 50 minutes to the Pengcheng Square area, which is a reference range rather than an official price.
- For ride-hailing, walk to the pick-up point on the left, or east, side of Exit 3 on the T2 arrivals level — a separate area from the taxi rank that works on a passenger-waits-for-car basis.
No official airport-to-centre fare or distance exists; only the tariff can be checked — ¥8 for the first 3 km, ¥2.00 per km from 3 to 6 km, 50% more beyond 6 km, and up to a 20% operator uplift on the base figure. Complaints go to 12345 or 12328.
Pre-booked door-to-door transfer anywhere in the city
Fare ¥40 (website) or ¥35 (latest WeChat figure)
- Book ahead, either through the “door-to-door transfer” page of the official Xuzhou Guanyin International Airport WeChat account or on 17327676735 (08:30–12:00 and 13:30–17:30).
- The official figures disagree: the airport website still says ¥40 while the WeChat guide says ¥35, so confirm the price on 0516-83707677 when you book.
- The car comes to whatever address in the Xuzhou urban area you gave, at the agreed time, and takes you straight to the departures level.
Good for early departures, bulky luggage or three or four people travelling together; the downside is that booking is compulsory and the airport publishes no journey time. A cross-city version covers Pizhou, Zaozhuang, Huaibei, Suzhou in Anhui and Yongcheng.
Late-night and early-morning arrivals
The last high-speed train leaves Guanyin Airport station early: third-party timetables show a final departure around 20:57 arriving at Xuzhou East at 21:13 on C3886, with an earlier D5414 at 19:25, and these move with every timetable change, so check 12306 for your date. No metro reaches the airport, so there is no rail option at night, and taxis add ¥0.3 per km after the first 3 km between 23:00 and 05:00. Coaches towards the city have no fixed last departure — they run as flights land — so an early-hours arrival may still find one waiting, though nothing guarantees it. The reliable answers are the taxi rank and ride-hailing, both of which work as long as aircraft are arriving.
Questions travellers ask
Is there a metro at Xuzhou Guanyin Airport?
No, and that is the official position. Xuzhou Metro Group replied on the People’s Daily Online message board in May 2026 that suburban Line S2, the line that would serve the airport, is part of the approved network plan but not yet built, and that it will not run through to Xuzhou East, so passengers would change at an interchange. Operating Lines 1, 2, 3 and 6 have no airport station, so getting into town means the shuttle plus train, a coach, or a taxi.
What is the fastest way from Xuzhou airport to the city centre?
When the timetable cooperates, the rail combination wins: five minutes on the ¥3 shuttle to Guanyin Airport station, then 15 minutes by high-speed train to Xuzhou East, about 20 minutes on board in total. Only about a dozen trains stop there each day, though, so waiting often costs more than riding. If you miss the connection, take the ¥25 coach or a taxi, which third-party sites put at roughly 50 minutes.
What is the cheapest way into Xuzhou?
The ¥3 shuttle plus a train to Xuzhou East at ¥13–16 in second class, so about ¥16–19 all in, then Metro Line 1 from Xuzhou East if you need it. The ¥25 city coach is the next cheapest and has the advantage of dropping you in the old railway station area.
How much is the airport bus and how long does it take?
¥25 on the city line to the Main Bus Terminal and ¥25 on the high-speed station line. The airport publishes no journey time, and while a third-party aggregator claims about an hour for the station line — along with a ¥20 fare that contradicts the official ¥25 — this page follows the airport and quotes no minutes.
What time does the last airport bus leave?
Only city-to-airport departures are published, roughly hourly from 06:00 to 20:00 at the Main Bus Terminal. In the other direction there is no timetable at all: the airport describes simply running coaches to match actual landings, so whether anything is waiting after midnight depends on that night’s flights.
How much is a taxi from Xuzhou airport to the city centre?
No such official fare exists. What you can check is the tariff: ¥8 for the first 3 km, ¥2.00 per km from 3 to 6 km, a 50% surcharge beyond 6 km that takes the rate to about ¥3.00 per km, and an operator uplift of up to 20% on top, with tolls paid separately. Third-party travel sites quote ¥80–100 and about 50 minutes to the Pengcheng Square area, which is a reference range and not an official price.
Can I pay with a foreign card, Alipay or WeChat Pay?
No official page sets out payment methods for taxis. In practice cash, Alipay and WeChat Pay QR codes all work while foreign plastic usually does not, so carry some cash or link an international card to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly. Have cash or a QR wallet ready for the shuttle and the coaches too.
Is there any public transport if I land late at night?
Do not count on rail: the last high-speed train leaves Guanyin Airport station around 20:57, subject to timetable changes, and no metro serves the airport. Coaches towards the city run as flights land, so something may still be waiting in the small hours, though nothing guarantees it. The reliable answers are the taxi rank and ride-hailing, with ¥0.3 per km added after 3 km between 23:00 and 05:00.
Is the shuttle manageable with big suitcases?
The shuttle is a custom bus with room for luggage, Guanyin Airport station is small and the five-minute hop is easy. The awkward parts are at both ends: if your last leg is Metro Line 1 you still have security screens and interchange corridors, and with very heavy bags or three or four people the simpler answer is often to take a taxi all the way.
I need Xuzhou East rather than the centre — does that change anything?
Completely different, and covered on its own page. The cheapest route to Xuzhou East is the same rail combination — ¥3 shuttle plus a ¥13–16 train, about 20 minutes — and there is also a ¥25 coach straight to Xuzhou East Bus Terminal inside the rail hub. For the centre you continue on Metro Line 1 from Xuzhou East.
How many terminals are there, and can I get lost?
Every official ground-transport page refers only to Terminal T2, and all the pick-up points — shuttle, coaches, taxis and ride-hailing — sit on the Level 1 arrivals level. Follow the signs for coaches, taxis or ride-hailing and it is hard to end up in the wrong queue.
