In short
Zhuhai has no metro and will not have one soon, so unless your destination is Zhuhai station at Gongbei, an airport express coach is usually more useful than the train: there are lines to Xiangzhou, Jiuzhou Port in Jida, Tangjia, Hengqin and Chimelong, Qianshan, Doumen, plus cross-border services to Macao and intercity runs to Zhongshan and Jiangmen. The routine is uniform. Buy your ticket at the Airport Express counter inside the Level 1 arrivals hall — the Macao, Zhongshan and Jiangmen lines sell theirs at the coach station in the same hall, hotline 0756-8111333 — then walk 40 m past Exit (03) to the shared boarding area, Zone D, on your right. City fares start at ¥30: the Gongbei line to Gongbei Port and Zhuhai station is ¥30, the Hengqin and Chimelong line is ¥30 to the hotels and ¥40 to Hengqin Port or the ferry terminal, Tangjia is ¥40, Jida and Jiuzhou Port is ¥33 with ¥30 to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge port, Qianshan is ¥38 to ¥48 depending on the stop, Xiangzhou is ¥45 with ¥65 in a business car, the Xiangzhou bus terminal line is ¥65 in a business car, and Doumen is ¥30. Intercity and cross-border fares are ¥60 on the Zhongshan West line with ¥90 to ¥100 in a business car, ¥60 to ¥80 on the Zhongshan Sanxiang and Tanzhou line, ¥90 on the Zhongshan Torch line, ¥80 on the Macao line with children at ¥40, and ¥55 to Jiangmen, where the airport quotes ¥55 and a local news site says ¥60 — we follow ¥55 and record the conflict rather than picking a side. Three things about timing need saying up front. First, only three lines have a published journey time, being about 35 minutes to Gongbei, 45 to Hengqin and 110 to Jiangmen; every other line has no official minute figure, which is why the table shows a dash instead of an estimate. Second, the first and last columns give airport departures, and the latest of all is the Tangjia line at 23:50, the last departure printed on the airport timetable, with Zhongshan West at 23:00, Gongbei at 22:30 and Xiangzhou at 22:44. Third, beyond the express coaches there are ordinary city buses: route 207 towards Gongbei Port terminus and route 504 towards Baijiao, both from platform Zone C5, 50 m to the right outside Exit (03), for ¥1 on ordinary services and ¥5 on express services, by far the cheapest way to leave the airport. We could not verify their first and last departures, so the table shows no times and you should read the notice at the stop itself. One closing caution: if your destination really is Zhuhai station at Gongbei, the ¥30 coach and the ¥26 train cost almost the same, and the train is quicker and immune to traffic, so take the train in that case.

How to take each option
How to buy a ticket and board: the same for every line
Fare From ¥30
- Do not head outside yet: buy your ticket first at the Airport Express counter inside the Level 1 arrivals hall, naming the area you are going to, such as Gongbei, Hengqin or Tangjia.
- Intercity and cross-border lines — Macao, the Zhongshan services and Jiangmen — sell tickets at the coach station in the arrivals hall on 0756-8111333, and you should allow extra time for clearance or the longer run.
- Walk 40 m past Exit (03) to the shared express boarding area, Zone D, on your right, and locate your line by the route board.
- Confirm the destination and fare before boarding, since some lines are priced by stop — the Qianshan line runs ¥38 to ¥48 — and the seller will check this with you.
- City lines run more frequently around the arrival peaks, but treat the day’s ticket desk notice and the board at the stop as authoritative.
If Zhuhai station at Gongbei is your destination, compare fares before you buy: ¥26 on the train against ¥30 on the coach, with the train quicker and immune to traffic. The coach only wins if you have heavy bags or it is past 20:55.
Cross-border and intercity: Macao, three Zhongshan lines and Jiangmen
Fare ¥55-90, with Macao at ¥80
- Buy at the coach station in the arrivals hall on 0756-8111333: ¥60 to Zhongshan West, ¥60 to ¥80 to Sanxiang and Tanzhou, ¥90 to the Torch zone, ¥80 to Macao and ¥55 to Jiangmen.
- The Macao line clears at Hengqin Port with passengers processing their own formalities, so keep your travel documents to hand and allow at least an hour before anything you have booked next.
- Every intercity and cross-border line departs from the same Zone D, 40 m outside Exit (03), so there is no separate long-distance bus station to find.
The weakness here is frequency: around four Jiangmen runs a day at roughly two-hour intervals, nine departures to the Zhongshan Torch zone and six Macao departures on the official timetable. One fare also conflicts, with Jiangmen at ¥55 on the airport site and ¥60 elsewhere, and this page follows the airport.
The cheapest option: city buses 207 and 504
Fare ¥1, or ¥5 on express services
- Walk 50 m past Exit (03) to bus platform Zone C5 on your right, where route 207 heads for Gongbei Port terminus and route 504 for Baijiao.
- Pay ¥1 in cash or by QR code on boarding, or ¥5 on express services, which is the standard Zhuhai city bus fare scale.
- We could not verify reliable official first and last departures for either route, so read the notice at the stop and check that day’s operating hours before deciding.
The ¥1 figure comes from how the Hengqin government site describes ordinary Zhuhai buses rather than from a route-specific official table, which is another reason this page quotes no journey times or hours for either route.
Late-night and early-morning arrivals
Three lines actually run late and this airport is more generous than most: the Tangjia line at 23:50 is the latest departure printed on the official timetable and calls at Nanping Bridge on the way into town, the Zhongshan West line finishes at 23:00, and the Gongbei line at 22:30, with Xiangzhou at 22:44 and Qianshan at 21:27. The operator separately advertises the Gongbei route as running from 05:30 until the last flight, but nothing states in writing what cover to the last flight actually means, so beyond 23:50 you must confirm on the night. After that it is taxis and ride-hailing, which add 30% to the whole fare from 23:00 to 06:00, putting the 40 to 45 km run at roughly ¥170 to ¥190 before tolls. One caution: check the intercity last train at about 20:55 before the coaches if Zhuhai station or Hengqin is your real destination, since that is often the faster way to the same place.
Questions travellers ask
Where do I catch the airport express bus at Zhuhai airport?
Always the same place: buy at the Airport Express counter inside the Level 1 arrivals hall, then walk 40 m past Exit (03) to the shared boarding area, Zone D, on your right. City buses 207 and 504 use Zone C5 instead, 50 m along on the right.
How much is the airport bus to Gongbei and how long does it take?
The Gongbei line is ¥30 on a standard coach or ¥55 in a business car, taking about 35 minutes, with around 44 departures from 07:30 to 22:30 at a 15-minute minimum headway. For Zhuhai station the ¥26 train is faster, so compare before you commit.
Why do many lines show no journey time in the table?
Because none is published. The airport and the operator give a journey time for only three lines — about 35 minutes to Gongbei, 45 to Hengqin and 110 to Jiangmen — so every other line has no official figure and we refuse to fill the gap with third-party guesses.
What time does the last bus leave?
The latest departure on the printed airport timetable is the Tangjia line at 23:50, which calls at Nanping Bridge, followed by Zhongshan West at 23:00, Gongbei at 22:30 and Xiangzhou at 22:44. The operator advertises service until the last flight but states no rule in writing, so treat anything after 23:50 as something to confirm on the night.
Is there a bus from Zhuhai airport straight to Macao?
Yes, the Macao line costs ¥80, or ¥40 for children, serving the Macao Regency and the Venetian with additional Sands, Londoner and Parisian stops. Six departures run from 10:00 to 20:00, clearing at Hengqin Port yourself, so allow ample time for the border.
How do I get to Zhongshan or Jiangmen?
Buy at the coach station in the arrivals hall on 0756-8111333: ¥60 to Zhongshan West, ¥60 to ¥80 to Sanxiang and Tanzhou, ¥90 to the Torch zone and ¥55 to Jiangmen, all boarding from the same Zone D. All these services are infrequent, with around four Jiangmen runs a day at roughly two-hour intervals.
What is the cheapest way to leave the airport?
City buses 207 and 504 at ¥1, or ¥5 on express services, from Zone C5, though we could not verify reliable official hours for either and you should read the notice at the stop. Among the express coaches the cheapest are Gongbei and Hengqin at ¥30, while the train costs only ¥26.
How much is it to Hengqin Port and Chimelong?
The Hengqin and Chimelong line charges ¥30 to the hotels, or ¥45 in a business car, and ¥40 to Hengqin Port or the ferry terminal, or ¥65 business car, taking about 45 minutes with 27 departures from 08:23 to 17:08. The train reaches Hengqin station in about 20 minutes for ¥17, which is quicker and cheaper.
Can I pay by card or phone?
The airport publishes no dedicated page on payment methods. In practice cash and QR wallets both work while cards issued abroad generally do not, so carry some cash or link an international card inside Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly.
Do I need to book the bus in advance?
No booking is needed: every line sells tickets on the spot at the counter in the arrivals hall or at the coach station, and the frequent city lines involve little waiting. Intercity services are thin, with Jiangmen running about four times a day, so check that day’s schedule before deciding whether to wait or take the train instead.
