In short
Five coach services are verifiable at Baiyun Airport today. From the West Bus Terminal of the Terminal 2 ground transportation centre you get Airport Express Downtown Line 1 — via the CAAC residential area, Baiyun district government centre and Sanyuanli to the CAAC ticket office next to Guangzhou Railway Station and on to Baima Building, ¥20 by day and ¥21 from 22:00 until the last flight — plus the Airport Road corridor city shuttle to Lianhe, Xinshixu (Baixin Plaza) and the CAAC residential area north gate, ¥19.8 between 08:35 and 22:05 and ¥35 at night. Arriving at Terminal 3 you board at the terminal itself: the T3 express coach Liwan lines A and B stop at metro entrances including Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Chen Clan Academy, the Huangpu lines A and B at entrances including Dashadong, all from ¥19.9, running 07:00 to 06:00 the next day. Terminal 3 has no metro, so anyone heading for the metro network takes Airport Link 2 branch instead: Gaozeng metro station Exit B to the T3 transport centre in about 15 minutes for ¥2, first bus 06:15 and last 23:15 towards the airport, 06:35 and 22:40 back towards the metro. Stop-by-stop timetables are not published on open web pages for most lines, so trust the boards at the stop; Terminal 1 closed on 7 May 2026 and every T1 boarding point in older guides is dead.

How to take each option
Boarding at Terminal 2
- After baggage claim, follow the coach signs from the arrivals level all the way to the West Bus Terminal inside the ground transportation centre.
- Buy at the staffed counter or a self-service machine, naming the stop you want — say the CAAC ticket office or Xinshixu rather than a landmark.
- Cash and QR payment both work, and tickets bought in advance through the Baiyun Airport Express or Airport Tong WeChat accounts can be shown as a QR code at the bus.
- Queue at the bay number on your ticket, hand big suitcases to the driver for the luggage hold, and keep your ticket stub.
The most useful stop on Downtown Line 1 is the CAAC ticket office, immediately beside Guangzhou Railway Station and next to both the provincial and municipal long-distance bus stations — ideal if you are changing to a train.
Boarding at Terminal 3
- Follow the coach signs from Terminal 3 arrivals to the marked coach bays.
- Choose by direction: the Liwan line serves Yuexiu and Liwan (Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Chen Clan Academy), the Huangpu line serves Huangpu (Dashadong).
- Buy online in the Guangjiao Zhongyun Transport mini-program, or at the counter on the spot.
- Board where staff direct you; these coaches stop at the kerb beside metro entrances, so you step off and walk straight into the station.
The T3 network runs 07:00 to 06:00 the next day, with late-night departures reaching the five core districts of Baiyun, Tianhe, Haizhu, Yuexiu and Liwan until the last flight. Per-line first and last departures were published only as images, so confirm them before you travel.
Joining the metro from Terminal 3 (the ¥2 link)
Fare ¥2First 06:15Last 23:15
- Heading for the metro, board at bay 74 in the level 1 tour-bus concourse of the T3 transport centre (first bus 06:35, last 22:40).
- Ride about 15 minutes to Gaozeng metro station and use Exit B on foot.
- Enter Gaozeng station and continue by metro, following the interchange signs inside.
- Coming back, board at Gaozeng Exit B for T3 (first bus 06:15, last 23:15).
This is the cheapest ticket at Baiyun Airport: ¥2 puts you onto the metro network from T3, far less than a taxi or an express coach.
If you walked to the wrong terminal
- Check the terminal printed on your ticket or boarding pass — only T2 and T3 operate now.
- Between T2 and T3 use the free 24-hour shuttle bus or the Guangzhou East Ring intercity (about 6 minutes, ¥5).
- Allow at least 20 minutes — the two terminals are not connected landside and a mistake means backtracking.
No bus or taxi service operates from Terminal 1 any more; it closed for renovation on 7 May 2026.
Questions travellers ask
Where do I get an airport bus at Baiyun Airport?
At Terminal 2 it is the West Bus Terminal inside the ground transportation centre — follow the coach signs. At Terminal 3 it is either the terminal’s own coach bays for the express lines or bay 74 of the level 1 tour-bus concourse for the metro link.
How much is the Guangzhou airport bus?
Downtown Line 1 is ¥20 by day and ¥21 after 22:00; the Airport Road shuttle ¥19.8 by day and ¥35 at night; the T3 express coaches start at ¥19.9; and the link bus to Gaozeng metro costs just ¥2.
Is there a bus from Terminal 3 into the city?
Yes — the T3 express coaches in two pairs, the Liwan lines A and B and the Huangpu lines A and B. They start at ¥19.9, run 07:00 to 06:00 the next day, and stop beside metro entrances such as Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Chen Clan Academy and Dashadong.
Which bus goes to Guangzhou Railway Station?
Airport Express Downtown Line 1 — get off at the CAAC ticket office stop, right beside Guangzhou Railway Station. It costs ¥20 by day.
Are there buses in the middle of the night?
Yes — the city coach network keeps late-night departures to the five core districts until the last flight, and the T3 network runs until 06:00. The metro will be shut by then, so trust the boards on site.
How do I get from T3 to the metro?
Take Airport Link 2 branch from bay 74 of the transport centre to Gaozeng station Exit B — about 15 minutes, ¥2. Or ride the intercity to T2 (about 6 minutes, ¥5) and change onto the metro there.
Can I buy coach tickets online in advance?
Yes — the Baiyun Airport Express and Airport Tong WeChat accounts sell the two T2 lines, and the Guangjiao Zhongyun Transport mini-program sells the T3 express coaches. Show the QR code when you board.
Bus or metro from Baiyun Airport?
Line 3 is 40 minutes and ¥7 with both time and price guaranteed, but you haul your bags through interchanges. A coach typically costs ¥20–35 for a single seated ride to a railway-station-area stop, which suits heavy luggage, hotels away from the metro, or late arrivals.
Is there room for my luggage?
Yes — large suitcases go into the hold with the driver’s help, small bags come with you, and you keep the ticket stub until you get off.
Are there still buses at Terminal 1?
No. Terminal 1 closed for renovation on 7 May 2026 and its flights moved elsewhere, so every T1 boarding point in older guides is dead — plan around T2 or T3.
