Haikou Meilan (HAK) has the railway station on level B1 of the terminals: Meilan station reaches Haikou East in 8 minutes, then follows the Hainan Ring line to Sanya in 91 minutes or Yalong Bay in 90 — all without leaving the building. Ring-line tickets from here can be booked on traintickets.travel.
Getting from the plane onto the island railway
Haikou has no metro. The airport has its own railway station inside the terminal — one level down, and you are on the island ring line.

Follow the rail signs down to B1
Drop to the B1 rail concourse from Door 2 (T1 arrivals), the GTC atrium or Door 3 (T2 arrivals), all indoors. Ticket machines stand in the arrivals hall.

Suburban S-trains cover Greater Haikou, while every east-loop high-speed train calls at Meilan: 1h31 to Sanya station and 1h30 to Yalong Bay.
From plane to train
Follow these steps in order. Every one of them happens indoors — there is no shuttle bus.

Land and walk into arrivals
Terminals 1 and 2 connect, so after your bags you are still in the same core building.

One level down is the railway
Level B1 is the rail concourse, a couple of minutes from the gates; buy tickets at the arrivals machines.
