Airport buses at Nanning Wuxu (NNG): five lines, ¥20 flat, metro connections

Five city lines, all ¥20, tickets sold inside the Terminal 2 arrivals hall to the right of Exit 6. Line 1 runs to the last flight of the day, the only public transport still moving late, and all five connect to metro lines 1, 2, 4 and 5 at Nahong overpass.

In short

Nanning Wuxu International Airport runs five city airport bus lines, all at a flat ¥20, with tickets sold inside the Terminal 2 arrivals hall to the right of Exit 6 and an enquiry line on 0771-2881666. On the latest figures, from the Nanning municipal notice of 12 June 2026 and the airport timetable of 2026, they work like this. Line 1 to Nanning station and the Civil Aviation Hotel runs from 08:00 until the last flight of the day, departing after 22:00 as passengers arrive, roughly every 30 minutes and taking 50 to 60 minutes. Line 2 to the Waton International Hotel runs 08:10 to 21:30, about every 40 minutes, 60 to 70 minutes. Line 3 to the zoo and Guangxi University runs 08:30 to 19:30, roughly hourly, 60 to 70 minutes. Line 4 to the city air-terminal on the south square of Nanning East runs 07:45 to 18:15, about every 30 minutes, 60 to 70 minutes. Line 5 to the Liyuan V-Garden Hotel and Wuxiang runs 08:30 to 19:30, roughly hourly, 60 to 70 minutes. The single most important thing to know here is that Nanning has no metro to its airport: airport Line S1 phase one from Wuxu Airport to Nadan is still at the preliminary stage with construction aimed at the next Five-Year Plan period, per the transport bureau draft plan of September 2026, so the buses are the only way to reach the metro. Since 25 November 2025 every line has called at a metro interchange, and Nahong overpass replaced the old Yihe Xinyuan Hotel stop, with coaches to Nahong Exit F from 07:45 to 21:30 and later with flight traffic, and from Nahong to the airport 06:50 to 22:50, the five lines between them touching metro lines 1, 2, 4 and 5. The fare itself is simple: ¥20 flat, regardless of distance. Intercity coaches to Qinzhou, Beihai, Yulin, Fangchenggang and other Guangxi cities are also sold here, from the counter inside Exit 6 with coaches leaving from the front-right outside it, but their fares exist only in two conflicting third-party sources, one quoting ¥60 to Qinzhou and another ¥75, and the airport publishes no complete intercity timetable or fare list, so this page lists no intercity prices or departures and you should rely on what the counter posts on the day. Everything on this page covers Terminal 2 only, since nothing about Terminal 1 ground transport has been verified.

How to take each option

Buying a ticket and boarding, step by step

Fare ¥20
  1. After baggage claim buy your ticket inside the Terminal 2 arrivals hall, at the counter to the right of Exit 6: all five city lines are ¥20, and the enquiry line is 0771-2881666.
  2. Follow the airport bus signs to the boarding area on the Terminal 2 arrivals level. The official timetable puts Lines 1 and 2 at Exit 2 and Lines 3, 4 and 5 at Exit 6, so trust the signs on site.
  3. Check the line number and destination on the front of the coach or on the stop sign before boarding, stow big bags in the hold below and keep valuables with you.
  4. Once aboard, follow the announcements or your own map, because most intermediate stops are ordinary bus stops rather than staffed terminals and it is easy to ride past yours.

All five lines cost a flat ¥20 regardless of distance. Intercity coaches are sold at the same counter inside Exit 6 and board at the front-right outside it, but their fares have no official source, so this page does not list them.

No metro here: reaching the network by bus

Fare ¥20
  1. Accept the situation first: no metro serves Nanning airport. Line S1 phase one from Wuxu Airport to Nadan is still at the preliminary stage with construction aimed at the next Five-Year Plan, per the transport bureau draft plan of September 2026, so no direct metro exists any time soon.
  2. Take any airport bus and get off at Nahong overpass: since 25 November 2025 every line calls at this metro interchange, which replaced the old Yihe Xinyuan Hotel stop.
  3. From the airport to Nahong, metro Exit F, coaches run 07:45 to 21:30 and later with flight traffic; from Nahong to the airport they run 06:50 to 22:50.
  4. The lines reach different parts of the metro: Line 1 connects with lines 1, 2, 4 and 5, Lines 2 and 4 with line 1, Line 3 with lines 1 and 5, and Line 5 with lines 1, 3 and 4.

This is the real answer for anyone searching for a Nanning airport metro: the airport itself has no metro station, so reaching the network means one bus leg first, and Nahong overpass is the main interchange.

If a railway station is your real destination

  1. For Nanning East, take Line 4 direct to the city air-terminal on the south square, ¥20 and 60 to 70 minutes, 07:45 to 18:15, or go faster by train from Wuxu Airport station under Terminal 2, 29 to 36 minutes for ¥22–25.
  2. For Nanning station, take Line 1, which finishes at the Civil Aviation Hotel beside the railway station at 82 Chaoyang Road, ¥20 and 50 to 60 minutes, or take the train instead, 15 minutes for ¥14–16.
  3. Wuxu Airport station sits on levels B1 and B2 of the hub in front of Terminal 2: from arrivals drop to B1, follow the railway signs about 100 metres and turn left at the T-junction, officially under 200 metres and five minutes.
  4. Trains are sparse, about six a day to Nanning and ten to Nanning East, so check departures before choosing between the coach and the train.

Air-rail transfer passengers with a same-day train ticket and flight booking ride one single bus trip free between Nanning East or Nanning station and the airport during bus hours, valid to 31 December 2026, enquiries on 0771-96365.

When no bus fits your plan

  1. Landing late, after Line 4 finishes at 18:15 or Line 2 at 21:30, take Line 1, which runs to the last flight and departs after 22:00 with passenger flow, the only public transport still moving.
  2. In the small hours, or when Line 1 has finished, taxis wait at the front-left outside Exit 6 of the Terminal 2 arrivals hall and ride-hailing cars at the front-right, both around the clock.
  3. In a hurry during the day, go straight to Wuxu Airport station under Terminal 2: 15 minutes to Nanning station and 29 to Nanning East, faster than any coach.
  4. For other cities in Guangxi, tickets are sold inside Exit 6 of the Terminal 2 arrivals hall and coaches leave from the front-right outside it, intercity enquiries on 0771-2883150, and the fare is whatever the counter posts that day.

Everything here concerns Terminal 2; nothing about Terminal 1 ground transport has been verified, so it is left out.

Late-night and early-morning arrivals

Only Line 1 covers the night: from 08:00 it runs until the last flight of the day, departing after 22:00 as passengers arrive, making it the only scheduled public transport still moving late. Line 2 finishes at 21:30, Lines 3 and 5 at 19:30, and Line 4 to Nanning East as early as 18:15. Those hours follow the latest wording in the municipal notice of 12 June 2026 and the airport timetable; the airport own May 2026 timetable gives 07:45 to 21:15 for Line 2 and 08:30 to 20:30 for Line 3, so the two official versions disagree and it is worth checking against the newer municipal figures. If Line 1 has stopped too, only taxis at the front-left outside Exit 6 and ride-hailing cars at the front-right remain, both 24 hours, with an ¥11 taxi flag fall between 23:00 and 06:00.

What time is the last airport bus?

In reverse: Line 1 from the city 05:30 to 22:30, Line 2 06:45 to 20:05, Lines 3 and 5 07:00 to 18:00, and Line 4 09:30 to 20:00.

Is there a bus to Nanning East railway station?

Yes, Line 4, ¥20, 60 to 70 minutes and roughly every 30 minutes, running from the airport 07:45 to 18:15 and finishing at the city air-terminal on the south square of Nanning East, calling at MixC. In reverse it runs direct from 09:30 to 20:00 in 50 to 60 minutes.

Is there a metro, and do the buses connect to it?

The airport itself has no metro: Line S1 phase one from Wuxu Airport to Nadan is still at the preliminary stage with construction aimed at the next Five-Year Plan. All five bus lines do connect, though: since 25 November 2025 they call at Nahong overpass, replacing the Yihe Xinyuan Hotel stop, and between them reach metro lines 1, 2, 4 and 5.

What is Nahong overpass, and why do guides mention it?

It is the metro interchange on the airport bus network, in use since 25 November 2025 and replacing the old Yihe Xinyuan Hotel stop. From the airport to Nahong, metro Exit F, coaches run 07:45 to 21:30 and later with flight traffic; from Nahong to the airport they run 06:50 to 22:50.

Are there coaches to Qinzhou, Beihai or Yulin?

There is a counter: buy inside Exit 6 of the Terminal 2 arrivals hall and board at the front-right outside it, intercity enquiries on 0771-2883150. But intercity fares exist only in two conflicting third-party sources, Qinzhou being quoted at ¥60 by one and ¥75 by another, and the airport publishes no complete timetable, so this page lists none of them and you should go by what the counter posts.

How long does the airport bus take?

Line 1 takes 50 to 60 minutes and Lines 2, 3, 4 and 5 take 60 to 70, with Line 4 running 50 to 60 minutes direct in the Nanning East to airport direction. Those are the figures in the official airport timetable.

Can I pay for the bus with my phone?

No payment methods are stated officially. In practice the counter takes cash, Alipay and WeChat Pay QR codes while foreign cards generally do not, so carry some cash or link an international card to Alipay or WeChat Pay before flying.

Is there a bus if I land in the middle of the night?

Only Line 1: it runs to the last flight and departs after 22:00 with passenger flow, making it the only scheduled public transport late at night. The others finish between 18:15 and 21:30. Later than that, taxis and ride-hailing cars run 24 hours.

Bus, train or taxi?

Travelling light with a hotel near a line terminus, the ¥20 bus is cheapest. In a hurry with trains running, the train under Terminal 2 is fastest, 15 minutes to Nanning for ¥14 and 29 to Nanning East for ¥22. With heavy bags, three or four people, or a late arrival, a metered taxi door to door is simplest.
