In short
Start with the question everybody searches first: there is no metro to Changchun Longjia, and that is official rather than a gap in our data. Changchun Rail Transit Line 3, the light-rail line, runs from Changchun station and the Puppet Manchukuo Palace in the north to Changying Century City in the south and never comes near the airport, while Line 9, the airport line, is still under construction with passenger service planned for the end of December 2027. So you have three things instead. The best of them is a railway station beside the terminal. Longjia station is underground, directly south of Terminal 1, and joined to both terminals by an enclosed corridor roughly 880 m long with moving walks and escalators, so the walk takes about ten minutes and you never step outside, which matters in a Changchun January. From Longjia station the Changchun–Hunchun intercity railway runs about 22 trains a day to Changchun station in roughly 14 minutes, with second class published at ¥8.5, the first departure at 06:55 and the last at 22:20, arriving 22:35. The second option is the coach. After bus operations were transferred on 15 January 2025, the official notice lists three city routes, each ¥25: line 1 to Renmin Square in the centre, line 2 to the Satellite Square highway coach station and line 3 to Kaixuan Road coach station at the north entrance of Changchun station. Lines 1 and 3 run in step with flight arrivals, from 60 minutes after the first landing to 60 minutes after the last and at least hourly off-peak, while line 2 keeps a fixed hourly timetable from 10:00 to 18:00. A fourth route, Jilin City bus line 999, is an intercity coach at ¥18 leaving hourly from 09:00 to 01:00, boarding at Door 5 of Terminal 2. The third option is a taxi or a ride-hailing car: taxis queue outside Door 15 of Terminal 1 and Door 3 of Terminal 2, and ride-hailing cars use a dedicated lounge inside Door 13 of Terminal 2 with seats, a television and phone charging. Two things have to be said plainly. No bus route here publishes a journey time, so this page quotes no minutes, and no official airport-to-city taxi price exists either — only the tariff can be checked, at ¥8 for the first 2.5 km, ¥2.2 per km after that, a 50% empty-running surcharge between 15 and 30 km, 75% beyond 30 km, ¥0.4 per minute of low-speed waiting, and no fuel surcharge at all, that last one having been abolished.

How to take each option
Recommended: the indoor walk to Longjia station, then 14 minutes by train
Time About 10 min walking plus 14 min on boardFare ¥8.5 in second class
- After baggage claim, check that day’s departures first: about 22 trains a day run from Longjia station to Changchun station in roughly 14 minutes, but the last leaves at 22:20 and after that a taxi is all that is left.
- On the arrivals level of Terminal 2 follow the signs for Longjia station or high-speed rail downwards into the enclosed underground corridor, about 880 m long and fitted with moving walks and escalators.
- Walk about ten minutes to Longjia station, an underground station directly south of Terminal 1. The whole route is indoors, which is the point of it in winter.
- Buy or collect your ticket with your passport, or buy it in advance on 12306 or in the search box above. Second class is published at ¥8.5, with fares floating in practice.
- Ride the Changchun–Hunchun intercity line for about 14 minutes to Changchun station, which is already in the city; for Renmin Square change to Metro Line 1 or take a taxi.
This is the best option at Changchun, with two caveats. The last train leaves at 22:20, so late arrivals must fall back on a taxi or on bus lines 1 and 3, which follow flight arrivals. And it delivers you to Changchun station: direct trains to Changchun West run only once a day, taking 27 minutes, so most people should ride to Changchun station and change there.
Airport bus line 1: ¥25 to Renmin Square
Fare ¥25First 05:00Last 19:00
- Buy your ticket at the coach counter or the self-service machines beside Door 9 on the arrivals level of Terminal 2, or check departures and buy in the Changxing Changchun mini-program.
- Wait at the coach departure point at Terminal 2, where every line starts, and look for the line 1 stand signed for Renmin Square.
- Pay the flat ¥25 fare and board. The route runs via Dongfang Square, Lequn Street, Linhe Street and Nanguan, finishing at Renmin Square on Minkang Road.
- Departures from the airport are not clocked: buses run from 60 minutes after the first landing to 60 minutes after the last, leaving when full at peak times and at least hourly off-peak.
In the other direction the bus leaves Quanan Square, at Exit D of Nanguan metro station, between 05:00 and 19:00. The airport publishes no journey time for this route, so the one-hour figure quoted by third-party sites is not reproduced here.
Airport bus line 3: ¥25 to the north entrance of Changchun station
Fare ¥25First 13:30Last 16:30
- Buy the ¥25 ticket at the same counter or machines beside Door 9 on the arrivals level, and look for the line 3 stand signed for Kaixuan Road coach station.
- The bus runs via Dongfang Square, Lequn Street, Linhe Street, Nanguan, the Department Store on Chongqing Road and West Square, finishing at Kaixuan Road coach station by the north entrance of Changchun station.
- It runs in step with flight arrivals, from 60 minutes after the first landing to 60 minutes after the last, while the return direction leaves Kaixuan Road coach station at 13:30, 14:30, 15:30 and 16:30.
If the train you are catching leaves from Changchun station itself, this line is easier than the intercity train: no 880-metre walk with your bags and no stairs, and it drops you at the north square of the station.
Taxi and ride-hailing
Fare Metered
- Follow the taxi signs to the official rank outside Door 3 of Terminal 2, or Door 15 of Terminal 1, and ignore anyone who approaches you inside the terminal.
- Show the driver the Chinese name and address of your hotel, say clearly that you want the meter rather than a negotiated price, and check the meter has started.
- Pay what the meter shows plus road and bridge tolls, which the airport says are the passenger’s responsibility, and ask for the receipt with the cab number.
- For ride-hailing, walk to the dedicated lounge inside Door 13 of Terminal 2, which has seats, a television and phone charging, and is not the same place as the taxi rank.
No official airport-to-centre price exists. Third-party travel sites quote ¥70–100 for the Renmin Square area, a reference range rather than an official fare, and only the tariff can be checked. Complaints go to 12328.
Late-night and early-morning arrivals
Late arrivals still have three options. The last intercity train leaves Longjia station at 22:20, reaching Changchun station at 22:35 and Changchun West at 22:48, and after that there is no rail at all. Bus lines 1 and 3 run in step with flight arrivals, so they keep running while planes land, at least hourly off-peak, and Jilin City line 999 runs until about 01:00 from Door 5 of Terminal 2. If you miss everything you are still not stranded: taxis and ride-hailing run round the clock, and ride-hailing has its own lounge inside Door 13 of Terminal 2. Note that between 22:00 and 04:00 the taxi flag drop rises from ¥8 to ¥9, with everything else still on the meter.
Questions travellers ask
Is there a metro from Changchun airport to the city?
No, and that is official rather than a gap in our data. Changchun Rail Transit Line 3 runs from Changchun station and the Puppet Manchukuo Palace in the north to Changying Century City in the south with no airport station, and Line 9, the airport line, is under construction with passenger service planned for the end of December 2027. For rail into town, walk the 880-metre indoor corridor to Longjia station and take the intercity train.
What is the fastest way from the airport to central Changchun?
The intercity train: about ten minutes of indoor walking to Longjia station, then roughly 14 minutes to Changchun station from ¥8.5, so about 25 minutes door to door. It is immune to road congestion, and no coach route can honestly claim to beat it, especially since the airport never publishes coach journey times.
How do I get to Longjia station, and is it a long walk?
Follow the signs for Longjia station or high-speed rail down from the arrivals level of Terminal 2 into an enclosed underground corridor about 880 m long, with moving walks and escalators, so the walk takes about ten minutes. It is indoors the whole way, which is welcome in a Changchun winter or in rain, and there are no steps to haul luggage up.
How much and how long is the train from Longjia to Changchun?
The airport publishes about 22 trains a day taking roughly 14 minutes, with second class at ¥8.5; 12306 uses floating fares, so ¥8.5–10 is the usual range. The first departure is 06:55 and the last is 22:20, arriving at Changchun station at 22:35.
How much is a taxi from the airport to the city centre?
That figure has never been published officially. Only the tariff can be checked: ¥8 for the first 2.5 km, ¥2.2 per km after that, a 50% empty-running surcharge between 15 and 30 km and 75% beyond 30 km, ¥0.4 per minute of low-speed waiting, no fuel surcharge at all, and tolls on top. Third-party travel sites quote ¥70–100 for Renmin Square, which is a reference range rather than an official price.
What time is the last train?
The last train towards Changchun station leaves Longjia at 22:20, reaching Changchun at 22:35 and Changchun West at 22:48, and the first is at 06:55. Towards Jilin station the last departure is 20:46. If you miss it, take bus line 1 or 3, which follow flight arrivals, or take a taxi.
Is there a bus to Jilin City?
Yes. Jilin City bus line 999 costs ¥18 and runs hourly from 09:00 to 01:00, boarding at Door 5 of Terminal 2, where you will find the ticket counter and machines inside the domestic arrivals hall. You can also buy through the Jilin City Airport Bus WeChat account, except for departures between 20:00 and 01:00.
Can I order a ride-hailing car at the airport?
Yes. Under the airport’s three-zone layout, ride-hailing cars use a dedicated lane and pick up inside Door 13 of Terminal 2, where the lounge has seating, a television and phone charging. It is not the same place as the taxi rank at Door 3, so do not walk to the wrong one.
Can I pay as a foreigner, and do I need cash?
Changchun publishes no official page on taxi payment. In practice cash and WeChat Pay or Alipay QR codes work while foreign cards generally do not, so carry some cash or link a card before you fly. Train tickets can be bought at the counter with your passport or in advance on 12306 or on this site.
Train or taxi — which should I take?
Travelling alone, unhurried and landing before 22:20, the intercity train wins at ¥8.5 and about 25 minutes door to door, immune to traffic. With heavy bags, three or four people, or a late arrival, a taxi door to door is simplest and by far the most expensive, at a third-party reference range of ¥70–100 that is not an official fare.
