Chengdu Tianfu (TFU) is one of the few Chinese airports where you can board a high-speed train without leaving the complex: Tianfujichang station sits under the GTC between T1 and T2, 27 minutes from Chengdu East, 29 from Zigong and 58 from Yibin. For the city, Metro Line 18 takes 33 minutes to Chengdu South for a flat ¥10. Tickets from Tianfujichang can be booked on traintickets.travel.

Getting here by metro
Follow these steps. From baggage reclaim to the train, it all happens indoors.

Leave arrivals and head for the GTC
Follow the GTC / Metro / Rail signs along the corridor into the Ground Transportation Centre, then take the escalator down to the L1 interchange hall. Everything is within 500 m of the terminal.

Metro Line 18: 33 minutes to Chengdu South33 min
Line 18 boards on the L1 hall and runs non-stop to Chengdu South for ¥10; Line 19 links the two Chengdu airports.

For high-speed rail, the station is on the same level
Tianfujichang station is one level below the metro hall in the GTC. After security it is 27 minutes to Chengdu East, and trains towards Zigong, Yibin and Luzhou leave from downstairs too.

From plane to train
Follow these steps. The station is not in the middle of the terminal — you walk a signed indoor passage.

International and Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan flights use T1, domestic flights T2. Follow the GTC signs after baggage claim.

Enter the GTC and drop to the L1 hall
The Line 18/19 gates and the rail station entrance are both on L1; the rail platforms are one level below.

City: Line 18 to Chengdu South in 33 minutes. Elsewhere: 27 minutes to Chengdu East from Tianfujichang, where the Beijing–Kunming and Chengdu–Chongqing lines begin.

The 240 hours run from 00:00 the day after entry. Tourism, business, family visits and similar activities are allowed, while work, study and news reporting still require a visa obtained in advance.
