Chongqing Jiangbei Airport (CKG) to Chongqing city centre

Line 10 leaves from underneath Terminal 3: 21 minutes to Chongqing North station north square for ¥4, one of the cheapest airport rail rides in China.

In short

You land at Terminal 3 and you leave from Terminal 3: since 23 December 2025 every domestic and international/regional flight at Chongqing Jiangbei uses T3 and its T3B satellite concourse, and both the metro and the railway station are underneath it. There are three realistic ways into town. Metro Line 10 is the default: the concourse sits under the terminal with Exit 4 connecting to the arrivals level, trains towards Lanhua Road leave every few minutes, and the ride to Chongqing North railway station north square takes 21 minutes for a distance-based ¥4, one of the lowest airport rail fares in the country. From the north square you change to Line 4, or stay on Line 10 to Hongtudi and change to Line 6 for Xiaoshizi, the nearest station to Jiefangbei. If you would rather sit still and let someone else handle the bags, airport express K01 leaves from outside door 9 on Level 1 and runs direct to Jiefangbei Guotai Square in about 65 minutes for ¥15. Taxis queue at the official rank on the platform between Terminal 3 and the Ground Transport Centre and are metered; note that Chongqing publishes a tariff formula but no official airport-to-city reference fare.

How to take each option

Metro Line 10 (recommended)

Time 21 min to Chongqing NorthFare ¥4First 06:38Last 23:23
  1. Clear arrivals and follow the Metro signs down one level; the Line 10 concourse is under Terminal 3 and Exit 4 comes up in the arrivals hall.
  2. Buy a single-journey token at the machines, which have an English interface, or tap in with a Chongqing transport QR code in Alipay, WeChat Pay or Cloud QuickPass.
  3. Board the train towards Lanhua Road; on the platform signs that is the direction for Chongqing North and the Yuzhong side of the city.
  4. Ride 21 minutes to Chongqing North north square; for Jiefangbei stay on to Hongtudi and change to Line 6 for Xiaoshizi.
  5. Drop the token in the slot or tap out at the gates, then follow the signs up to the street.

The ¥4 is a distance-based fare published when the airport section of Line 10 opened, and it remains one of the cheapest airport rail fares in China. Trains run about every 7 minutes at peak. If you arrive at Terminal 2, board at the Terminal 2 stop and ride one stop to Terminal 3, or take the free terminal shuttle (about 20–25 minutes).

Airport Express K01

Time About 65 minFare ¥15 per personFirst 08:30
  1. After baggage claim, go to Level 1 and walk to door 9 on the outer kerb, where the express ticket kiosk stands.
  2. Buy at the kiosk or pay the driver when you board: ¥15 per person, with children under 1.3 metres riding free.
  3. Put large suitcases in the hold under the passenger compartment and keep your ticket until you get off.
  4. Ride about 65 minutes through California Garden, Damiao, Shangqingsi and the Great Hall, and get off at the last stop, Jiefangbei Guotai Square.

No last departure is published: buses start at 08:30 and keep running until about 30 minutes after the last arriving flight of the day, and after 22:30 a bus leaves within 30 minutes of the first passenger boarding. K01 no longer serves Terminal 2 — those stops were dropped from January 2026.

Taxi

Fare Metered
  1. Follow the Taxi signs from arrivals down to Level 1.
  2. Queue at the signed rank on the Level 1 platform between Terminal 3 and the GTC; ignore anyone who approaches you inside the arrivals hall.
  3. Show the driver your destination and address written in Chinese, and confirm he will use the meter.
  4. Pay the metered fare on arrival and ask for the printed receipt before you get out.

Chongqing publishes only the tariff formula — flag drop, per-km rate, night rate, low-speed charge and long-distance rate — and no reference fare for any airport-to-city pair.

Late-night and early-morning arrivals

The airport’s current official table puts the last Line 10 departure from Terminal 3 towards the city at 23:23, while other sources still list 22:52 — check the boards on the day rather than trusting either number. Once the metro has stopped, airport express K01 carries on until about 30 minutes after the last arriving flight, and taxis and ride-hailing cars run 24 hours. Between 23:00 and 06:00 the night tariff applies: ¥11 for the first 3 km, ¥2.30 per km afterwards and ¥3.45 per km beyond 25 km, roughly 15% above the day rate.
