In short
Here is the shape of it. Three numbered airport coach lines plus one city shuttle: line 2 runs towards Jinyuan Building in the centre and line 3 towards Shijiazhuang station East Square, both ¥20 and about 50 minutes, leaving the city every 30 minutes from 05:00 to 21:00; line 4 runs Yiling Health City to Tianshanhai World for ¥20, departing on the hour from 05:00 to 21:00, hourly, and note that anyone boarding at the ticket booth west of the Tianshanhai World south gate has to change at East Second Ring Road onto a line 3 coach to reach the airport, while the official table lists no departures from the airport for this line at all. Then there is the city shuttle to Ximei Building and Beiguo Mall, ¥20 on the hourly coaches and ¥30 on the half-hourly business vans, running from the airport every 30 minutes between 08:30 and 22:00, hourly from 22:00 to 23:00, and after 23:00 according to when flights land until the last flight of the day. Two ordinary public buses complete the set: Airport Express 1 links Nanjiao coach terminal with Terminal 2 for ¥10 between 06:00 and 20:00, about 60 minutes across 24 departures a day, and no longer serves Yuanboyuan or Fuze after the March 2024 rerouting; route 142 runs Yuanboyuan to Terminal 2 from 05:30 to 18:00 and is the only bus threading Fuze on Metro Line 1, Zhengding Airport high-speed railway station and both terminals onto one route, though no published fare exists for it. Two intercity coaches finish the list: Baoding at ¥45 and about 1 hour 30 minutes, and Xingtai at ¥55 and about 2 hours. Three things need saying up front. First, the airport publishes times only in the city-to-airport direction; going the other way everything is described as running to match landings, with no fixed last departure except on the city shuttle. Second, boarding points are scattered across different doors on the T2 ground floor: lines 2 and 3 in front of door 2, the Baoding and Xingtai coaches in front of door 3 with tickets from the blue counter inside, and the city shuttle sharing the waiting area between doors 5 and 6 with the taxi queue. Third, the seven other intercity routes the airport mentions, to Dingzhou, Anguo, Cangzhou, Xinji, Gaoyang, Yangquan and Hengshui, have no official fares or times, so this page does not list them. The enquiry number is 0311-88027686.

How to take each option
Finding the right door to board
- After baggage claim, work out on the ground floor which service you need: lines 2 and 3 in front of door 2, the Baoding and Xingtai coaches in front of door 3, and the city shuttle from the waiting area between doors 5 and 6.
- Buy intercity coach tickets at the blue counter on the T2 ground floor before boarding in front of door 3, while city services normally sell tickets on the bus.
- Check the route number on the bus or the stop plate before joining a queue; the coach area sits next to the taxi rank but is separate from it.
- If you are unsure, call 0311-88027686 or ask at the information desk on the ground floor; the airport runs a 24-hour line on 0311-96360.
With no metro at the airport, coaches are the only public transport that runs direct into town; if you are along Metro Line 1, you can also ride to Fuze and change to route 142, which runs 05:30 to 18:00.
Understanding departures from the airport
- The airport publishes timetables only towards the airport: lines 2 and 3 every 30 minutes from 05:00 to 21:00, line 4 hourly on the hour.
- In the other direction everything except the city shuttle is described as running to match landings with no fixed last departure, which is why the last-bus times on this page are for the city-to-airport direction only.
- The city shuttle is the only service with published airport-side times: every 30 minutes from 08:30 to 22:00, hourly from 22:00 to 23:00, and after 23:00 according to landings until the last flight of the day.
- The Baoding and Xingtai coaches are among the few services with firm times in both directions, listed in the route table above.
Because there is no airport-side timetable, a late arrival is not hopeless: as long as flights are landing, lines 2 and 3 will be running, which is why this page treats night service as available.
Saving money on the public buses: Express 1 and route 142
- Airport Express 1 costs ¥10 on 2024 figures, runs 06:00 to 20:00 roughly every 35 minutes across 24 departures, takes about 60 minutes and serves Terminal 2.
- Route 142 runs 05:30 to 18:00 on a fixed schedule, calling at Fuze on Metro Line 1 and at Zhengding Airport high-speed railway station; no published fare exists, so carry small change or a bus QR code.
- Check the official Shijiazhuang Bus WeChat account for current fares and stops on both routes; the summer 2026 guide confirms only that they still run.
The public buses are the cheapest option here at ¥10, at the cost of a long ride, many stops and early last departures at 18:00 and 20:00; and since the 2024 rerouting, Express 1 no longer serves Fuze, so route 142 is the only way to change from the metro onto a bus.
Why seven other intercity routes are missing here
- The summer 2026 guide mentions nine intercity routes, to Dingzhou, Anguo, Cangzhou, Xinji, Xingtai, Baoding, Gaoyang, Yangquan and Hengshui, and refers passengers to the Konggang Bus Express WeChat account.
- Only Baoding at ¥45 and Xingtai at ¥55 can be verified in full, fares and times, from the airport route table; the other seven have no official source, so this page omits them rather than reprinting third-party prices.
- If you are heading to one of those seven cities, check that day’s departures on the Konggang Bus Express WeChat account or call 0311-88027686.
For the same reason, third-party sites such as Trip.com label the same services S1, S2 and a business express, so naming is inconsistent; this page uses only the numbering in the airport route table.
Questions travellers ask
How much is the airport bus at Shijiazhuang?
Airport bus lines 2, 3 and 4 all cost ¥20, the city shuttle costs ¥20 on hourly coaches or ¥30 on half-hourly business vans, public Airport Express 1 costs ¥10, and the intercity coaches are ¥45 to Baoding and ¥55 to Xingtai.
Where do I catch the airport bus?
Lines 2 and 3 board in front of door 2 on the T2 ground floor, the Baoding and Xingtai coaches in front of door 3 after you buy your ticket at the blue counter inside, and the city shuttle from the waiting area between doors 5 and 6. Departures from the airport follow arriving flights.
What time is the last airport bus?
Most services have no fixed last departure from the airport and run to match landings; the city shuttle leaves every 30 minutes from 08:30 to 22:00, hourly from 22:00 to 23:00 and then by flight arrivals. The 21:00 shown on the airport site is the last departure towards the airport. From the airport, the Baoding coach finishes at 21:00 and the Xingtai coach at 22:00.
Is there a coach to Baoding or Xingtai?
Yes. The Baoding city terminal coach costs ¥45 and takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, leaving the airport at 09:30, 11:00, 12:30, 13:30, 15:00, 16:30, 18:00, 19:30 and 21:00; the Xingtai coach costs ¥55 and takes about 2 hours, leaving at 10:30, 13:30, 15:00, 17:00, 20:00 and 22:00. Both sell tickets at the blue counter on the T2 ground floor and board in front of door 3.
Is there a public bus to the airport and what does it cost?
Two of them: Airport Express 1 between Nanjiao coach terminal and Terminal 2 at ¥10, 06:00 to 20:00, about 60 minutes, and route 142 between Yuanboyuan and Terminal 2, 05:30 to 18:00, with no published fare. Route 142 is the only bus linking Fuze on Metro Line 1 with the airport.
Is there a metro, or only buses?
No metro serves the airport: official guidance says ride Line 1 to Fuze and change to a ride-hailing car or taxi, and the planned Line S2 and northern extension of Line 1 remain at study stage, unapproved. So public transport means coaches or buses, with route 142 connecting Fuze to the terminals.
Is there a free shuttle and where does it leave from?
Yes, the free air-rail shuttle between the terminals and Zhengding Airport station on the Beijing–Guangzhou line. At the airport, board at bay B2 in front of door 7 on the T2 ground floor for about five minutes, leaving 30 minutes before each train; from the station, board on the east side of the check-in hall, with buses leaving as trains arrive. Some coverage says door 6, so trust the signs.
Why do some guides list a line 1 or S1 that this page does not?
Naming is inconsistent: the airport route table uses lines 2, 3 and 4, the summer 2026 airport post names services by their endpoints, and Trip.com labels them S1, S2 and a business express. This page uses only the numbering and fares in the official route table.
Are there buses if I land late at night?
Yes. Lines 2 and 3 run to match landings with no fixed last departure, and the city shuttle departs by flight arrivals after 23:00 until the last flight of the day. The Baoding coach at 21:00 and the Xingtai coach at 22:00 are the last two airport departures with firm times. Public buses finish at 18:00 and 20:00.
