In short
Start with the authority behind the numbers. Taxi fares in Shijiazhuang city, Zhengding county included, are set by the municipal government under Shi Jia [2013] No. 134, the Notice on Adjusting Urban Taxi Fares, in force since 1 November 2013 and twice extended, first by Shi Fa Gai Jing Fei [2018] No. 873 and then by the Shijiazhuang Development and Reform Commission Notice on Extending Validity of 10 November 2021. That Zhengding county, where the airport sits, uses the same standard is independently confirmed: the Luquan district government stated in a December 2024 reply that its tariff matches those of the main urban area, Luancheng, Gaocheng and Zhengding, quoting ¥8 per 3 km, a ¥0.5 fuel surcharge per trip and ¥1.6 per km. The terms are these: a flag drop of ¥8 covering the first 3 km; ¥1.6 per km; an empty-running surcharge of 50% on the per-km rate beyond 6 km, taking it to ¥2.4 per km and waived on return hires; a waiting charge of one extra kilometre of fare for every full five minutes, with nothing charged under five; round hires billed at 90% of the per-km rate; a night supplement of ¥0.2 per km between 23:00 and 05:00; and a CNG-linked fuel surcharge of ¥0.5 per trip. Expressway tolls incurred on the way are paid by the passenger. For the rank: taxis queue opposite door 5 on the ground floor of Terminal 2, next to the indoor waiting area of about 290 square metres between doors 5 and 6, reached by following the floor signage. Ride-hailing uses a different area: the airport built a staging pool between zones A2 and A5 of the Terminal 1 car park, and cars enter the coach lane by the T1-T2 link road, pick up at T2 ground level and leave. Payment is by the meter, with a receipt, and the airport explicitly warns against negotiating a flat price. Shijiazhuang taxis generally take cash and Alipay or WeChat QR codes, but whether an international card can be tapped directly is not stated anywhere official, so carry some cash. Complaints go to 0311-12328, or to the airport 24-hour line on 0311-96360. As for prices, neither the authorities nor any third party publishes an airport-to-centre figure. The ¥75–95 on this page is our own arithmetic from the formula above, using the 30–35 km airport-to-centre distance quoted by third-party media, and it is not an official price, nor does it include expressway tolls or the night supplement. One caveat worth knowing: the airport’s own taxi page says ¥8.5 for the first 5 km and then ¥2.4 per km, which contradicts the Development and Reform Commission document and is internally inconsistent anyway; this page follows Shi Jia [2013] No. 134 throughout.

How to take each option
How to get a taxi
Fare Metered
- After baggage claim follow the taxi signs to the rank opposite door 5 on the ground floor of Terminal 2, next to the indoor waiting area between doors 5 and 6.
- Queue at the official rank and ignore anyone who approaches you offering a flat price; show the driver the Chinese name and address of your destination and say clearly that you want the meter.
- Check the meter has started once you are settled in, pay what it shows at the end plus any expressway tolls, ask for the receipt and note the cab number.
- If anything goes wrong, call the taxi complaints line on 0311-12328 or the airport 24-hour line on 0311-96360.
The airport is explicit: pay the metered amount, ask for a receipt and do not negotiate a price, and note that expressway tolls on the Xinyuan or ring expressway fall to the passenger, so keep a little cash on top of the fare.
How the fare adds up
- Start with ¥8 for the first 3 km, plus the ¥0.5 fuel surcharge per trip.
- Then ¥1.6 per km across the 3–6 km band, so at 6 km the base reading is ¥8 plus ¥4.8, about ¥12.8.
- Beyond 6 km a 50% surcharge applies, taking the rate to ¥2.4 per km; return hires escape the empty-running fee and round hires are billed at 90% of the per-km rate.
- As an illustration rather than a quote: at the 30–35 km third-party media distance, ¥8 plus 3 km at ¥1.6 plus 27 to 32 km at ¥2.4 plus ¥0.5 comes to roughly ¥75–95, before expressway tolls are added.
- Two further items can push it up: one extra kilometre of fare for every full five minutes of waiting, and ¥0.2 per km between 23:00 and 05:00.
The ¥75–95 here is our own arithmetic from the formula and not an official price. The airport taxi page, which says ¥8.5 for the first 5 km and then ¥2.4 per km, contradicts Shi Jia [2013] No. 134 and contradicts itself, so this page follows the Development and Reform Commission document.
Ordering a ride-hailing car
- The airport runs a ride-hailing staging pool between zones A2 and A5 of the Terminal 1 car park, with cars entering the coach lane by the T1-T2 link road, picking up at T2 ground level and leaving.
- After ordering in the app, walk to the designated pick-up point following its prompts and the signs; it is separate from the taxi rank, so do not simply wait at any arrivals door.
- Check the plate and the last digits of the driver’s phone number before getting in; longer and late-night trips are priced dynamically by the platform rather than by the cruise-taxi tariff above.
No taxi rank is published for Terminal 1, which handles international and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan flights; if you land at T1 and need a cab, check the signs on site or call 0311-96360.
If you would rather not take a cab
- Into town: airport bus line 2 costs ¥20 and takes about 50 minutes to Jinyuan Building, with departures from the airport matching landings.
- To save money: public Airport Express 1 costs ¥10 on 2024 figures, runs 06:00 to 20:00 and takes about 60 minutes, while route 142 runs 05:30 to 18:00 and connects to Fuze on Metro Line 1.
- For the railway station or Beijing: take the free shuttle from bay B2 in front of T2 door 7 for about five minutes to Zhengding Airport station, then a train of about 14 minutes to Shijiazhuang at ¥16.5 or about 73 minutes to Beijing West at ¥134.
One thing worth repeating: no metro serves the airport, so there is no cheaper underground alternative; the Hebei Airport Group summer 2026 guide says in so many words to take Line 1 to Fuze and then a ride-hailing car or taxi.
Late-night and early-morning arrivals
Between 23:00 and 05:00 a supplement of ¥0.2 per km applies, plus the ¥0.5 per-trip fuel surcharge, with expressway tolls still down to the passenger. A late arrival does not mean a taxi is your only option: airport bus lines 2 and 3 run to match landings with no fixed last departure, and the city shuttle departs by flight arrivals after 23:00 until the last flight of the day. Neither public buses, which finish at 18:00 and 20:00, nor the metro, which does not serve the airport, are of any use overnight. The rank opposite door 5 on the T2 ground floor stays stocked as long as flights are arriving.
Questions travellers ask
How much is a taxi from Shijiazhuang airport to the city centre?
Neither the authorities nor any third party publishes that price. What can be checked is the tariff under Shi Jia [2013] No. 134: ¥8 for the first 3 km, ¥1.6 per km after that, a 50% surcharge beyond 6 km that works out to ¥2.4 per km, one extra kilometre of fare for every full five minutes of waiting, ¥0.2 per km from 23:00 to 05:00, and a ¥0.5 fuel surcharge. The ¥75–95 here is our own arithmetic from that formula, not an official price, and excludes expressway tolls.
Is the flag drop ¥8 or ¥8.5, and is it 3 km or 5 km?
Per the official document it is ¥8 for the first 3 km under Shi Jia [2013] No. 134, then ¥1.6 per km, with a 50% surcharge beyond 6 km that works out to ¥2.4 per km. The airport taxi page, which says ¥8.5 for 5 km and then ¥2.4 per km, contradicts the document and contradicts itself, so this page follows the Development and Reform Commission text.
Are expressway tolls included in the fare?
They are not. The official wording is that expressway tolls incurred on the trip are borne by the passenger. The airport lies north-east of Shijiazhuang and the run into town usually uses the Xinyuan or ring expressway, so keep a little cash on top of the metered fare.
Is there a night surcharge?
Yes. Between 23:00 and 05:00 an extra ¥0.2 per km applies; on top of that, waiting adds one kilometre of fare for every full five minutes and the ¥0.5 per-trip fuel surcharge still applies.
Where is the taxi rank at the airport?
Opposite door 5 on the ground floor of Terminal 2, next to the indoor waiting area of about 290 square metres between doors 5 and 6; follow the floor signage. No rank is published for Terminal 1.
Can I order a ride-hailing car at the airport?
Yes, but from a different area to the taxis: the airport runs a staging pool between zones A2 and A5 of the Terminal 1 car park, with cars entering the coach lane by the T1-T2 link road and picking up at T2 ground level. Confirm the spot in your app and against the signs.
Can I pay with a foreign card, Alipay or WeChat Pay?
There is no payment-methods page; the airport only asks that you pay by the meter and not negotiate. In practice cash, Alipay and WeChat Pay QR codes work while foreign cards usually do not, so carry some cash or link one to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly. Always ask for the receipt.
What if the driver takes a long route or overcharges me?
Board only at the official rank, insist on the meter, keep the receipt and the cab number and note what the meter showed. Complain on the taxi line 0311-12328 or the airport 24-hour line 0311-96360.
Taxi or the airport bus?
With heavy bags, three or four people, or a late arrival, a taxi door to door is simplest and the most expensive option here. Alone, travelling light and heading for the centre, airport bus line 2 at ¥20 in about 50 minutes does the job at a fraction of the price.
Is there a metro instead?
No, and that is the official position. The Hebei Airport Group summer 2026 guide tells passengers to take Metro Line 1 to Fuze and then a ride-hailing car or taxi, while the planned Line S2 and the northern extension of Line 1 remain at preliminary study stage, unapproved.
