In short
Let us answer the question everybody searches first: no metro serves Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport, and this is the official position rather than a hole in our data. The Hebei Airport Group summer 2026 passenger guide lists the metro option in these words: take Shijiazhuang Metro Line 1 to its northern terminus at Fuze, then change to a ride-hailing car or taxi for Shijiazhuang Airport. In other words the underground gets you as far as Fuze and a road vehicle has to do the rest. Replying to a proposal from the city political consultative conference in July 2023, the Shijiazhuang Urban Rail Construction Office wrote that the planned suburban Line S2 would run north from the built-up area through Zhengding New District to Zhengding Airport, and that the north extension of Line 1, the project it would prioritise in the near term, was still at the stage of preliminary scheme study and had not been submitted for approval. Citizens were still posting on the People’s Daily Online message board in July 2026 urging that work start, which tells you nothing had been built by then. So the closest thing to a metro journey is Metro Line 1 to Fuze and then public bus route 142, which runs 05:30 to 18:00 and calls at Zhengding Airport high-speed railway station and both terminals, or the Airport Express 1 coach from Nanjiao coach terminal in the city, running 06:00 to 20:00 at ¥10 and, on 2024 figures, taking about 60 minutes across 24 departures a day. Beyond that there are four ways in. First, airport bus line 2: ¥20, boarding in front of door 2 on the T2 ground floor, about 50 minutes to Jinyuan Building in the centre, leaving the city every 30 minutes from 05:00 to 21:00 while departures from the airport have no fixed last run and simply follow arriving flights. Second, the city shuttle to Ximei Building and Beiguo Mall: ¥20 on the hourly coaches and ¥30 on the half-hourly business vans, running from the airport every 30 minutes between 08:30 and 22:00, hourly from 22:00 to 23:00, and after 23:00 according to when flights land. Third, a taxi or ride-hailing car on the meter, priced under Shi Jia [2013] No. 134: ¥8 for the first 3 km, ¥1.6 per km after that, a 50% surcharge on the portion beyond 6 km which takes the rate to ¥2.4 per km, one extra kilometre of fare for every five minutes of waiting, ¥0.2 per km extra between 23:00 and 05:00, and a ¥0.5 fuel surcharge per trip. No authority publishes an airport-to-centre price; the ¥75–95 on this page is our own arithmetic from that formula and is not an official figure. Fourth, and only if your real destination is a railway station or Beijing, take the free shuttle from bay B2 in front of door 7 on the T2 ground floor for about five minutes to Zhengding Airport station, then a high-speed train of about 14 minutes to Shijiazhuang station at ¥16.5 in second class.

How to take each option
Airport bus line 2: ¥20 to Jinyuan Building in the centre
Time About 50 minFare ¥20First 05:00Last 21:00
- After baggage claim follow the airport-coach signs on the ground floor out to the boarding point in front of door 2 of Terminal 2, which serves both line 2 and line 3.
- Buy your ticket from the driver, ¥20 per person, in cash or by QR code; call 0311-88027686 if you want to check that day’s arrangements first.
- The ride takes about 50 minutes and Jinyuan Building sits in the city centre. In the other direction, board outside Jinyuan Building or the Xian Hotel every 30 minutes from 05:00 to 21:00.
- Departures from the airport have no fixed last run — the airport describes them as leaving to match arriving flights, so simply join the queue in front of door 2 once you land.
This is the workhorse into town: a fixed fare, no changes, and the airport does publish the roughly 50-minute journey time. The drawback is that it only reaches the central area, so anyone staying out towards Yuhua Road or the high-tech zone still needs one more leg.
If you want the metro: Line 1 to Fuze, then bus 142
Time Metro per the Line 1 timetable; bus 142 runs 05:30–18:00Fare Metro fare plus bus 142, whose fare is unpublished
- Start by accepting the premise: the metro does not reach the terminals. The airport’s own wording is to take Line 1 to its terminus at Fuze and change to a ride-hailing car or taxi for the airport.
- Leave Fuze station and look for the route 142 stop. It runs from 05:30 to 18:00 in the Yuanboyuan direction and calls at Yuanboyuan, Fuze, Luojiazhuang and so on through Zhengding Airport high-speed railway station to Terminals 1 and 2.
- Pay on board — no published fare exists for route 142, so have small change or a bus QR code ready — and wait by the posted arrival times, which the operator says are accurate to within five minutes either way.
- If you would rather not change buses, order a ride-hailing car or take a taxi straight from Fuze, which is the fallback the airport guide itself suggests; the downside is that no official time or price exists for that last stretch.
The summer 2026 guide lists route 142 alongside Airport Express 1 and route 156 as bus options and refers passengers to the official Shijiazhuang Bus WeChat account for current details; the stops and hours for route 142 come from a Yanzhou Evening News report of March 2024 and the present fare has not been re-checked.
Taxi or ride-hailing
Time Not publishedFare Metered; our estimate ¥75–95
- Follow the taxi signs to the rank opposite door 5 on the ground floor of Terminal 2, next to the indoor waiting area between doors 5 and 6.
- Queue at the official rank and ignore anyone who approaches you offering a flat price; show the driver your hotel name and address in Chinese and say clearly that you want the meter.
- Pay what the meter shows plus any expressway tolls on the Xinyuan or ring expressway, ask for the receipt and note the cab number; complaints go to 0311-12328.
- For ride-hailing, the pick-up pool sits between zones A2 and A5 of the Terminal 1 car park, with cars entering the coach lane by the link road and picking up at T2 ground level; confirm the spot in your app and against the signs.
No authority publishes an airport-to-centre price or an official distance. What can be checked is the tariff: ¥8 for the first 3 km, ¥1.6 per km after that, a 50% surcharge on the part beyond 6 km that works out to ¥2.4 per km, one extra kilometre of fare for every five minutes of waiting, ¥0.2 per km between 23:00 and 05:00, and a ¥0.5 fuel surcharge per trip.
Cheapest of all: Airport Express 1 at ¥10
Time About 60 min (2024 figures)Fare ¥10 (2024 fare; the current fare is unverified)First 06:00Last 20:00
- This is a public bus between the city and Terminal 2 rather than an airport coach: since the route was revised on 15 March 2024 it calls at Nanjiao coach terminal, Dongwang, Shijiazhuang Radio and TV Station, Tiyuchang, Zhongshan Meijijiekou, Tangu, Zhaohuiqiao, the airport toll gate and Terminal 2.
- It serves Terminal 2 at the airport; towards the city it runs 06:00 to 20:00, roughly every 35 minutes across 24 departures a day, and accepts the city bus card or a bus QR code.
- The ¥10 fare is the figure reported in 2024; the summer 2026 guide confirms only that the route still runs, so check the Shijiazhuang Bus WeChat account for the current price.
Cheapest but slowest, and it serves only the Nanjiao coach terminal side and a handful of intermediate junctions, so it suits neither heavy bags nor tight schedules. After 18:00 the bus options thin out, with route 142 finishing at 18:00 and Express 1 at 20:00.
If the station is your real destination: free shuttle plus train
Time About 5 min shuttle plus 14 min trainFare Free shuttle, ¥16.5 second class
- Board at bay B2 in front of door 7 on the ground floor of T2; some coverage says door 6, but this page follows the current airport website and you should trust the signs on the day.
- Each departure is set 30 minutes before the matching train at Zhengding Airport station and the service only starts once the first inbound flight has landed; the ride takes about five minutes and finishes at the airport check-in hall beside the station, where you can check in and drop bags.
- Ride about 14 minutes to Shijiazhuang station for ¥16.5 in second class, or about 73 minutes to Beijing West at ¥134. Services move with each timetable change, so check 12306 before you travel.
The value of this route is airport to Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed rail: it puts you straight onto the national network, far quicker than going into town and doubling back to the station. But it delivers you to Shijiazhuang station, not to the centre.
Questions travellers ask
Is there a metro to Shijiazhuang Zhengding Airport?
No, and that is the official position. The Hebei Airport Group summer 2026 guide tells passengers to take Metro Line 1 to Fuze and then change to a ride-hailing car or taxi for the airport, and the city rail office replied in July 2023 that suburban Line S2 and the northern extension of Line 1 remain at preliminary study stage and have not been submitted for approval.
Which metro station is closest, and how do I finish the trip?
Fuze, the northern terminus of Line 1. Change there to bus route 142, which runs 05:30 to 18:00 towards Yuanboyuan and calls at the airport high-speed station and both terminals, or simply take a ride-hailing car or taxi from Fuze, which is exactly what the airport guide suggests.
How much is a taxi from Shijiazhuang airport to the city centre?
No such figure is published officially. What you can check is the tariff under Shi Jia [2013] No. 134: ¥8 for the first 3 km, ¥1.6 per km after that, a 50% surcharge beyond 6 km that works out to ¥2.4 per km, one extra kilometre of fare for every five minutes of waiting, ¥0.2 per km from 23:00 to 05:00, and a ¥0.5 fuel surcharge. The ¥75–95 here is our own arithmetic from that formula, not an official price, and it excludes expressway tolls.
How much is the airport bus and how long does it take into town?
Airport bus lines 2, to Jinyuan Building, and 3, to Shijiazhuang station, both cost ¥20 and the airport quotes about 50 minutes. The city shuttle is ¥20 on the hourly coaches and ¥30 on the half-hourly business vans, with no published journey time, while public Airport Express 1 costs ¥10 on 2024 figures and takes about 60 minutes.
What time does the last airport bus leave?
Lines 2 and 3 have no fixed last departure from the airport and run to match arriving flights, while the city shuttle runs hourly from 22:00 to 23:00 and then by flight arrivals until the last flight of the day. On the public bus side, route 142 finishes at 18:00 and Airport Express 1 at 20:00.
Is there a railway station at the airport?
Yes, though not inside the terminal. Zhengding Airport station sits on the Beijing–Guangzhou high-speed line about 5 km from the terminals and is reached by a free shuttle from bay B2 in front of door 7 on the T2 ground floor, about five minutes, leaving 30 minutes before each train. From there it is roughly 14 minutes to Shijiazhuang station at ¥16.5 in second class and about 73 minutes to Beijing West at ¥134.
How long does it take to get downtown?
The airport quotes about 50 minutes for bus line 2 and about 60 minutes for public Airport Express 1, the latter on 2024 figures. No official journey time exists for taxis and the airport publishes no airport-to-city distance, with third-party media putting it at roughly 30–35 km, so this page gives no minutes for a cab.
Can I pay with a foreign card, Alipay or WeChat Pay?
There is no payment-methods page; the airport only asks that you pay by the meter and not negotiate a flat price. In practice cash, Alipay and WeChat Pay QR codes work while foreign cards usually do not, so carry some cash or link an international card to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you fly. Have cash or a QR wallet ready for the coaches and buses too.
Is the airport inside Shijiazhuang city?
It is not. The airport sits in Zhengding county north of the built-up area, and third-party media put the run into the centre at roughly 30–35 km, the airport publishing no distance of its own. The good news is that Zhengding county uses the same taxi tariff as Shijiazhuang city, so there is no cross-district premium.
Is there anything into town if I land in the small hours?
Yes. Lines 2 and 3 have no last departure and run to match landings, and the city shuttle departs by flight arrivals after 23:00 until the final flight of the day. Neither buses nor metro help, since no metro reaches the airport. The reliable answer is the rank opposite door 5 on the T2 ground floor, staffed as long as flights arrive, with ¥0.2 per km added between 23:00 and 05:00.
