Shijiazhuang Zhengding Airport (SJW) to Shijiazhuang railway station

Two ways: the free shuttle takes five minutes to Zhengding Airport station and the train 14 more at ¥16.5, or airport bus line 3 runs to the station square for ¥20 in about 50 minutes.

In short

Shijiazhuang station is the city high-speed hub, and Zhengding Airport station on the Beijing–Guangzhou line sits right beside the airport, which is why the air-rail connection exists at all. The fastest route is this: take the free shuttle from bay B2 in front of door 7 on the ground floor of Terminal 2 for about five minutes to Zhengding Airport station, where it drops you at the airport check-in hall inside the station building, and where you can check in and drop bags. China State Railway Group describes the reverse movement as a walk of about 100 m following the exit signs, entering the check-in hall on the right of the exit. Shuttle departures are pegged to the trains: each one leaves 30 minutes before the corresponding departure at Zhengding Airport station, and the service only starts once the first inbound flight has landed. Between 26 and 29 October 2026, while secondary security screening was in force at the station, the margin was temporarily widened to 45 minutes. Coming back from the station you board on the east side of the check-in hall, with buses leaving as each train arrives and running hall, then T2, then T1. On the train itself, Shijiazhuang station is about 14 minutes away at ¥16.5 in second class and Beijing West about 73 minutes at ¥134. The number of scheduled passenger trains calling at Zhengding Airport station is given as 35 by the parent page and as a little over 30 by Peoplerail; either way it is not many, so check 12306 before you commit. The second route is airport bus line 3: board in front of door 2 on the T2 ground floor for a direct run to Shijiazhuang New Railway Station East Square, ¥20 and about 50 minutes, with departures from the station every 30 minutes from 05:00 to 21:00 and departures from the airport timed to arriving flights. Note that anyone starting from the West Square of Shijiazhuang station must first take the feeder bus to the East Square, every 30 minutes from 04:40 to 20:40, which stretches the whole journey to about 1 hour 20 minutes. Separately, Shijiazhuang North station reopened to passengers on 26 January 2026 after rebuilding, having been closed from October 2024 to 25 January 2026, and now handles 60 scheduled trains a day towards Beijing, Handan, Taiyuan, Hengshui and Ji’nan; to reach it take airport bus line 2 and get off at the Xian Hotel stop for the north station. And as for the metro: none serves the airport, so there is no underground route to the railway station either.

How to take each option

Free shuttle plus the high-speed train: fastest

Time About 5 min shuttle plus 14 min trainFare Free shuttle, ¥16.5 second class
  1. After baggage claim follow the high-speed rail or air-rail signs on the ground floor to bay B2 in front of door 7 of Terminal 2; some coverage says door 6, so trust the signs on the day.
  2. The shuttle is free and each departure is set 30 minutes before the matching train at Zhengding Airport station, with the service starting only after the first inbound flight lands, so look up the train you want on 12306 first.
  3. The ride takes about five minutes and finishes at the airport check-in hall beside the station, where you can check in and drop bags; the counters there open ten minutes before the first train arrives and close ten minutes after the last one leaves.
  4. Ride about 14 minutes to Shijiazhuang station at ¥16.5 in second class, or about 73 minutes to Beijing West at ¥134 if Beijing is your goal.
  5. Coming back, board on the east side of the check-in hall at Zhengding Airport station; buses leave as each train arrives and run hall, then T2, then T1.

This is the quickest option on the board, but it depends on there being a train: Zhengding Airport station sees few passenger stops a day, 35 according to the parent page and a little over 30 according to Peoplerail, and the last ones come early, so check 12306 before you rely on it. The airport runs a 24-hour enquiry line on 0311-96360 that also handles air-rail questions.

Airport bus line 3: ¥20 direct to the station East Square

Time About 50 minFare ¥20First 05:00Last 21:00
  1. Board in front of door 2 on the T2 ground floor; lines 2 and 3 share the same area, so check the route board before you join a queue.
  2. Pay ¥20 for a ticket to Shijiazhuang New Railway Station East Square at Shengli Street and Huihua Road; departures from the airport follow arriving flights and have no fixed last run.
  3. If you are starting from the West Square of Shijiazhuang station on your way to the airport, take the feeder to the East Square first, every 30 minutes from 04:40 to 20:40, and change there; the whole journey is about 1 hour 20 minutes.

The merits are that it is direct, needs no train connection and has a fixed fare; the drawback is the 50 minutes, subject to traffic, which makes it less dependable than the shuttle plus train if you are chasing a specific departure.

To Shijiazhuang North station: airport bus line 2

Time No published walking time to the stationFare ¥20
  1. Shijiazhuang North station reopened to passenger traffic on 26 January 2026 after rebuilding and now handles 60 scheduled trains a day, mainly towards Beijing, Handan, Taiyuan, Hengshui and Ji’nan.
  2. Take airport bus line 2 from in front of T2 door 2 and get off at the Xian Hotel stop for Shijiazhuang North station, ¥20.
  3. Note that the station was closed to passengers from October 2024 until 25 January 2026, and plenty of older guides still say it handles no passenger trains; go by the reopening notice of 26 January 2026.

The airport publishes neither the distance nor the walking time from the Xian Hotel stop to the station entrance, so this page quotes no minutes, and there is no direct train from Zhengding Airport station to Shijiazhuang North either, which we confirmed by searching 12306, so bus line 2 is the only way.

Cheapest: bus route 142 to Zhengding Airport station

Time Runs 05:30–18:00Fare Fare not publishedFirst 05:30Last 18:00
  1. Route 142 is the only bus threading Fuze on Metro Line 1, Zhengding Airport high-speed railway station and both terminals onto a single route, calling at Yuanboyuan, Fuze, the high-speed station, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
  2. Board at the bus stop serving T2 or T1 and ride to the Zhengding Airport high-speed railway station stop to change onto a train; no published fare exists, so have small change or a bus QR code ready.
  3. The last bus is at 18:00, after which only coaches and taxis remain.

Good for daytime travellers with light bags and no deadline: cheaper even than the ¥16.5 train, at the cost of many stops, a long ride and an early last bus.

Late-night and early-morning arrivals

The last high-speed trains at Zhengding Airport station come early and the timetable moves with every revision, so check 12306 before you travel; after that only road transport remains. Airport bus line 3 has no fixed last departure from the airport and runs to match landings, so a late arrival can still find the ¥20 coach to the railway station. Taxis add ¥0.2 per km between 23:00 and 05:00 plus the ¥0.5 per-trip fuel surcharge, with expressway tolls down to the passenger. No metro serves the airport, and the shuttle only runs when there is a train to catch, so after midnight there is no rail option at all.

Questions travellers ask

What is the fastest way from the airport to Shijiazhuang station?

The free shuttle takes about five minutes to Zhengding Airport station and the train about 14 more to Shijiazhuang, some 19 minutes of actual travel. But the shuttle leaves 30 minutes before each departure, so the real elapsed time depends on when the next train goes.

Where exactly do I catch the free shuttle?

The airport shuttle page says bay B2 in front of door 7 on the ground floor of T2, while a 2024 airport release and a Beijing Daily report describe exit 6 on Level 1. This page follows the current airport wording of door 7, and you should trust the signs in place. Coming back, board on the east side of the check-in hall, with buses leaving as trains arrive.

Does the shuttle cost anything and how long does it take?

It is free and takes about five minutes, ending at the airport check-in hall beside the station. Departures are pegged to the trains, 30 minutes before each departure, and the service starts only after the first inbound flight lands.

How much is the train from Zhengding Airport to Shijiazhuang?

¥16.5 in second class for the roughly 14-minute ride. Staying on the same Beijing–Guangzhou line, Beijing West is about 73 minutes away at ¥134 in second class. Fares move with the train, so check 12306 for your date.

How many trains stop at Zhengding Airport station each day?

The counts differ: the parent page says 35 scheduled passenger trains and Peoplerail says a little over 30. Either way it is not many and the last ones come early, so check 12306 before you rely on it.

How much is the airport bus to the railway station and how long?

Airport bus line 3 costs ¥20 and takes about 50 minutes direct to Shijiazhuang New Railway Station East Square, boarding in front of T2 door 2. Anyone starting from the West Square must take the feeder to the East Square first, every 30 minutes from 04:40 to 20:40, making the whole trip about 1 hour 20 minutes.

How do I get to Shijiazhuang North station?

Take airport bus line 2 and get off at the Xian Hotel stop for Shijiazhuang North station, ¥20. The north station reopened to passengers on 26 January 2026 after closing in October 2024 and now handles 60 scheduled trains a day, mainly towards Beijing, Handan, Taiyuan, Hengshui and Ji’nan.

Is there a metro to the railway station?

Not from the airport: no metro serves it, and the official guidance is to take Line 1 to Fuze and then a car. Shijiazhuang station itself is on the city metro network, so travelling to the station by metro from elsewhere in the city is perfectly possible, but that has nothing to do with the airport leg.

Can I still catch a train if I land late at night?

It depends on that day’s timetable: the last trains at Zhengding Airport station come early and the shuttle only runs when there is a departure to meet. If you miss them, take airport bus line 3, which follows landings with no fixed last run, or a taxi, which adds ¥0.2 per km between 23:00 and 05:00.

Can I check in and drop bags at Zhengding Airport station?

Yes. The shuttle finishes at the airport check-in hall beside the station, which China State Railway Group describes as a walk of about 100 m from the exit, entering on the right, where check-in and bag drop are available. Counters open ten minutes before the first train arrives and close ten minutes after the last one leaves.
