In short
Zhengzhou Xinzheng has the densest coach network of any airport reviewed so far: the airport posts eighteen routes, all leaving from the stands outside Door 2 on Level 1 of Terminal 2, with city express lines and the Zhengzhou East service at stands 2 to 4 and the intercity lines to other cities at stand 1. The first group, into the city, holds four lines plus a door-to-door option. The Civil Aviation Hotel, Zhengbian Road and Zijingshan line costs ¥20 in a coach or ¥35 in a saloon car, running from 08:30 until 23:00 and then on to forty minutes after the last scheduled flight, with the terminal guide board quoting about 37 minutes. The Zhengzhou Railway Station line matches it on price and hours and ends at the long-distance bus terminal beside the railway station. The Jianguo Hotel line, also ¥20 or ¥35, serves the eastern stretch of Jinshui Road. On top of that there is door-to-door service: shared rides at ¥49 a seat and private cars at ¥99 within the Third Ring Road, and ¥59 a seat and ¥128 within the Fourth Ring. The second group, to the high-speed station, holds exactly one line, Zhengzhou East at ¥20 terminating at stand 3 of the south bus area on the station ground floor. A cold word is needed here: Zhengzhou East already has a far better approach, the intercity train beneath the terminal at fifteen to seventeen minutes and ¥12, and the airport does not even publish a timetable for this coach. It suits just two cases — bags too awkward for the escalator, or a landing after the last intercity train at 22:57. The third group, thirteen lines to other cities, is the largest block on this page: Luoyang ¥100, Gongyi ¥65, Dengfeng ¥55, Xinmi ¥35, Shangqiu city terminal ¥80 with ¥60 to the Suixian west service area, ¥100 changing for Yuqiang and ¥150 changing for Xiayi, Luohe ¥60, Linyin ¥50, Xinxiang ¥68, Pingdingshan ¥80, Xiangxian ¥70, Anyang ¥100, Tangyin ¥100, Hebi ¥90, Puyang ¥100, Zhumadian ¥100, Xiping ¥80, Suiping ¥100, Jiyuan ¥90, Qinyang ¥80, Bo’ai ¥70, Mengzhou ¥70 outbound against ¥60 inbound, Wenxian ¥60 and ¥50, Sangpo ¥70 and ¥60, and one ¥100 fare covering Dancheng, Huaiyang and Zhoukou Huayaocheng. The crucial practical split inside that group is that Gongyi, Dengfeng and Xinmi, Shangqiu, Luohe and Linyin, and Mengzhou, Wenxian and Sangpo publish fixed departures you can plan around — Gongyi eight times daily between 10:00 and 20:40, Dengfeng and Xinmi at 11:10, 13:40, 16:40 and 18:40 — whereas Luoyang, Xinxiang, Pingdingshan, Anyang, Puyang, Zhumadian, Jiyuan and the Dancheng, Huaiyang and Zhoukou line only say they run as demand dictates, with no first or last departure and no running time. That usually means registering at the ticket window and leaving once enough passengers or an empty seat turns up. Phone ahead or ask at the counter the same day, and do not count on punctuality. Tickets are sold north of the domestic arrivals exit on Level 2 of T2, or by walking through link corridor 2 into the transport centre, heading some 500 m west and descending to the Level 1 coach hall at the western end. One honest closing note: if your destination is really Zhengzhou East or central Zhengzhou, look at the intercity train and the metro first. The coach is not the fastest road; what it solves is heavy bags, an aversion to changing trains, and anywhere beyond Zhengzhou itself.

Questions travellers ask
How much is the airport bus from Zhengzhou airport into the city?
¥20 on a full-size coach or ¥35 in a saloon car, depending on the vehicle that turns up. The three city lines share that price, the Zhengzhou East line costs ¥20, and shared rides start at ¥49 a seat inside the Third Ring and ¥59 inside the Fourth.
How many coach routes does Zhengzhou airport have?
The airport lists eighteen in total: four city express entries including the door-to-door service, one line to Zhengzhou East railway station, and thirteen intercity routes to other cities in Henan.
Where do airport buses depart from Zhengzhou airport?
All of them leave from outside Door 2 on Level 1 of Terminal 2: stands 2 to 4 for the city express lines, Zhengzhou East and shared rides, and stand 1 for intercity lines. Intercity tickets are sold north of the domestic arrivals exit on Level 2, or via link corridor 2 and 500 m west down to the coach hall.
Is there a bus from Zhengzhou airport to Luoyang, and what does it cost?
Yes, the intercity Luoyang line reaches Peony Square in Jianxi District for ¥100, though the airport lists it only as running on demand, with no timetable and no journey time. Alternatively take the intercity train to Zhengzhou East and a high-speed train on to Luoyang Longmen, which is usually quicker and far more predictable.
Are there direct buses to Kaifeng, Shangqiu or Dengfeng?
Shangqiu is served direct: ¥80 to the city terminal, ¥60 to the Suixian west service area, ¥100 changing for Yuqiang and ¥150 for Xiayi, roughly hourly from 09:30 to 18:30 and then at 19:30, 20:50, 22:00 and 23:00. Dengfeng and Xinmi cost ¥55 and ¥35 on four departures a day. Kaifeng has no bus of its own in the current official listing, so take the intercity train to Songcheng station there.
Is there an airport bus late at night?
Yes, and unusually so: the Civil Aviation Hotel, Zhengzhou Railway Station and Jianguo Hotel lines all run until forty minutes after the last scheduled flight. The Shangqiu line finishes at 23:00 and most other intercity services close between 18:40 and 20:40. Failing that take a taxi, available all night with the ¥2 supplement between 22:00 and 05:00.
To Zhengzhou East, should I take the bus or the intercity train?
Nine times out of ten it is the intercity train: fifteen to seventeen minutes, ¥12, roughly every 22 minutes, and in the same building as your gate. The ¥20 coach only wins with awkward bags or a landing after the last train at 22:57.
What does it mean when a line is listed as running on demand?
For Luoyang, Xinxiang, Pingdingshan, Anyang, Puyang, Zhumadian, Jiyuan and Zhoukou the airport says nothing beyond running as demand dictates: no schedule and no last departure, which usually means registering at the window and leaving once there are enough passengers or a vehicle. Ask what the day looks like rather than trusting a second-hand timetable.
For central Zhengzhou, bus or metro?
The metro is far cheaper at ¥2–¥7 on the guide board and takes about an hour and a quarter to Dongdajie; the coach is ¥20 or ¥35 and about 37 minutes to the Civil Aviation Hotel, with your bag stowed for you and no changes. Take the coach with heavy bags or a hotel on the route, otherwise the metro.
Can I pay for the coach by phone, and is there something cheaper?
The airport says nothing about how coaches take payment and this page will not invent it; counters generally accept WeChat Pay and Alipay QR codes, though keep some cash handy. Metro Chengjiao Line at ¥2–¥7 is cheaper, and the priciest option, a Fourth Ring private car at ¥128, buys you door-to-door convenience.
Travelling with children — which option is least hassle?
With children and bags, take the Fourth Ring private car at ¥128 or the shared ride at ¥59 a seat and finish in one move; failing that, one of the three city coaches provided your hotel is near the stop. For cheapness Metro Chengjiao Line works, but accept about an hour and a quarter and at least one change.
