K27/K28 is not sold on China Railway. Tickets are issued at five station counters only, and the North Korean visa must be arranged through a designated agency.

- From 2026 in practice only business visas are being issued
- Five ticket counters sell the train: Beijing, Tianjin, Shanhaiguan, Shenyang and Dandong
在口岸
- Border crossing at Dandong → Sinŭiju, on the Yalu River
- Buy at a station counter, not online — the ticket is linked to the passport and the visa
- Visa timing is the bottleneck: apply through a designated agency before buying the ticket
